Happy May Day everyone! We finally got some rain over the weekend and the trees, grass, and bushes are all very happy. The rain also brought us some cooler, drier days and nights which has been a great happening since we had a few weeks of temps around 90 and no rain every day.

Hubby and I have been trying to get pulled these weeds that have gone berserk this year growing up trees, fences, azalea bushes and along the ground. It has been crazy and I don't remember ever having so many weeds all thriving at the same time. It seems a bit like work with no payback since it can be hard to get at the roots that are all underground. At least the cooler weather and moist soil in helping the task.

Happy May Day! April went out with "showers" for sure! Rained all night and we have minor flooding in the area. But, the sun is peeking through the clouds today. It had been dry so I'm happy to see the puddles.

We had rain on and off our first day of May. But the week looks a bit drier. Here's hoping!

Happy May! So far this has been a good month. Our new grandson Dawson's Dedication will take place at church on Sunday and we are looking forward to that. He is such a blessing, and is doing very well. He is growing fast and is eating very well.

Happy Mother's Day to all!

One sad note for this month - I'm sure many of you have heard about the mall shooting that happened here on Saturday. Luckily no one we knew was there when it happened; however, Ed's son called us and said he and Dawson almost went to that mall and would have been there when it happened. He needed to go there to return a pair of shoes his daughter had purchased on line, but he needed the original credit card they were purchased with and he did not have that so could not go to the store. God was looking over them!

I did not hear about that Linda. God watches over and I believe things happen to protect, hence not finding the credit card.

Can you believe we are halfway through May already? I'm not ready for it to be going so fast. We have been working on Spring cleaning. When I get focused on the cleaning I seem to forget everything else I should be doing.
We had done the mulching in our front flower beds. We still need to do the back, but then I decided to clean up some things in the garage. By clean I mean organize and sort out and clean the cement floor etc. I always have to start a project in order to get someone else motivated to help get it done. I guess that is just one of our dynamics in how things work.
We had a great time in NY and PA on our trip. I took pictures and will share as soon as I get them from my camera to the computer. I have a few on my phone too. We had fantastic weather for our travels.
Today is another day of finishing up some chores, working in the garage and hopefully working on a couple of crafts.
I have one I have been working on and will share when it is finished.
While in PA my sister in law asked if I could make a few things to put in her store.
I hope everyone is enjoying their May.

Well, I have had a sad day today. This morning our blind cat was nowhere to be found. We have posted on 2 local sites on FB and have no responses so far. Unfortunately, we have noticed that the last couple weeks she seems to have been moving more slowly and her nose has been scratched from bumping into things more than usual. I have heard that cats will often find a place to hide, often away from their home, to die. I just read on line that they usually do this because they are aware that they are dying and they hide because they know they are weak and to try to keep away from predators. We have checked all our bushes and walked down the alley and along the roads and have found no signs of her. Hopefully, she will turn up tomorrow. I even asked the mailman (woman) to keep a lookout since she covers a lot of this neighborhood.

I will keep everyone posted.

UPDATE on Calli! When Ed went to put the trash out this morning, he found Calli in the front yard. We don't know where she went or was hiding, but are so happy she is back. I'm wondering if she somehow got closed into someone's garage? CePoo, our other cat, also seems to be happy she is back. Even though the 2 cats have never really gotten along (Calli has been the one who seems not to want to be friends) I think CePoo is also glad Calli has returned, because she is watching Calli. I hope Calli doesn't go wandering again.

Awww, Linda. what a relief to have your furry friend Calli back home!! I am glad nothing bad happened to her.

Last week, a neighbor posted on FB a video of this red fox that has been living in our neighborhood! I have seen it twice in the early morning at my house and head this very unfamiliar cry outside at night. Our neighbor who sort of acts like the neighborhood organizer sent out a message that others have been sighting the fox and to make sure your cats and small dogs are in a safe place at night and not out in the open. Scarry!@

I haven't seen any fox around here, but we have seen coyotes from time to time not too far from here. We have a lot of stray dogs here, too.

Last night of May I booked 2 cruises for us - unfortunately, they are a long ways off - Alaska in April 2024 and the Caribbean in January 2025. We like Carnival cruises, and many of the 2023 cruises for places we want to go to are already booked. Both the cruises I booked are for 14 days and in Alaska we have 10 ports (2 are just glacier sightings) and there are 8 ports in the Caribbean. That's what we like - more ports than sea days on a cruise. I'm also checking into another Viking River cruise in some far off place.
