Autumn seemed to arrive suddenly that year. The morning of the first September was crisp and golden as an apple. - JK Rowling / Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Welcome Fall!! Judith it was hot and humid here yesterday. But overnight, a cold front is now moving down and the humidity is much lower. Day temps will be in low 80s for today and tomorrow but over weekend back up to upper 80s. However, I love the fact that Fall is officially here because that means the better weather months of October and November arrive. My very favorite season of the year!!

Love these fun photos from Denise and Connie too!!

Woke up in the night needing to add a blanket to the bed. As soon as I was warm again I fell back to sleep. Was chilly getting out of the warmth but needed to get dressed and go to watch the littlest little, Peter, for a few hours. It was chilly but beautiful out this morning. Enjoyed seeing the sun come up while I was driving.

1st Day of Fall was nice here, too. Windows were open before we went to bed and cooled down the bedroom. We used the quilt for the first time in quite a while and it was so comfy. Haven't had the A/C or heat on for 3 days so far. Since we are leaving for Michigan via Arkansas, Missouri, and Wisconsin, it will be cooler and we are looking forward to the cooler temperatures.

Linda,
We are wearing sweatshirts and hoodies
here. I know it won't stay but enjoying it while it lasts.
The mornings are quite chilly. Usually it was still warm in NJ at this time in NJ.

Well friends, I shall try again. I wrote a short post three days ago...but it is not here. We have had the most beautiful weather. Cool mornings and sunny afternoons. We really are dry. I noticed when I moved my car out of the driveway Tuesday evening, and I was walking back to the house in white powdered Kaliche, the wind had changed directions. The next day we had a lot of leaves Come down. So autumn Is here.
Connie your picture reminds me of Dick and Jane. I loved the art work in my readers.
Linda, I hope you have a great trip. Our Julie, Bay and the baby went to Wisconsin last Thurs. And flew home on Monday. They had a nice visit. The trip was for her brothers funeral.
Denise, I keep seeing winter forecasts that say we are in for a really cold winter. So you will need your Hoodies
and big coats and some long undies too.
It is fun to read your of your adventures.
Everyone stay well!

Marilyn,
Someone from here told us last night the farmers almanac said we are in for a bad winter. JT turned the heat on this morning to take off the chill.

Linda, safe travels and I bet the fall foliage will be beautiful where you are going!! Enjoy!!

A "cold front" came through on Thursday and it was 61 this morning but by the afternoon, it was back up in the 80s. The humidity is less and no rain is predicted for the next 5 days right now. Just no humidity is a relief around here! I have to say I wish I was enjoying windows open, a sweatshirt in the morning, and signs of fall leaves!!

Darlene mentioned her surgery was the 22nd. Was that for September or October? Does anyone know for sure and if she had surgery, how she is?

Denise, I love the list you shared! Great reminders!!

Hello everyone, I am still at home Same leg no surgery yet.
They postponed my surgery again until November 3. Again, because of Covid . No one can stay over night and now I am concerned because there is a fire up closer there to Redding. Some woman from the Bay Area was caught that had set it.
Not going anywhere this month.
So how is everyone doing?
We have a pretty day here.

Love you all!

Darlene, so sorry you surgery has been put off again. Praying things will soon get cleared for them to get you in sooner.
We have another granddaughter having an overnight tonight. Emily and I will be going to the Apple festival with her family. JT has to work.

Darlene --I'm sorry that your surgery has been postponed again. My cataract surgery has also been postponed again. My opinion about the woman who started that fire is that she should be burned at the stake. The residents of the 400+ burned homes would probably agree. I am seriously tired of fires and covid.
I am so happy Fall is finally here. It is still hot but the weatherman is predicting 80s all next week. Whoopie!
