We went to Kentucky for a church homecoming, and took some time to check out properties near Irvine that we saw on Zillow. Somehow our GPS got confused in the mountains, but we found the property I had my eye on purely by accident. It is everything that I want - a view, quiet, and a small house. The only problem is that we aren't ready to retire for anot her couple years, and can't afford two mortgages. I hope the LORD will keep it for us!

It's been one of those days. I had low tires and was adding air to them, but one tire had a valve cap stuck on. I'm leery of forcing it or applying heat in case I mess up the tire.
Then there was a "pop" in the toilet tank and the water started running. We got a new set of innards and put them in. Now just checking that there's no drips.
And we're still married.

Thank you, sisters. Things are settling in a new rhythm, but I anticipate there will be days when I'll be reminded of her. I don't need to mop up puddles as much though.

Dad told me about this. Tina was the boss dog in the house. She kept everyone in line and had the humans trained to give her carrots.

Cold weather is here and colder weather is coming this weekend, so it's time for the feather bed.
My sweetie gave me this dachshund duvet cover a year or so ago.

Sadly, my little old Tina passed away last Friday. She was in her high teens and had a full life.

Lucky Rose!! :)

We had a little mixed mutt (think tri-color, small shelty) that was scared to death of elk/deer antlers. She would sniff them and then run and hide! :) lol.

Tis the season deer shed their antlers. Rose found one while we were on a walk and brought it home.

Vanessa, that is beautiful! I tell myself every year that I am going to get a Christmas cactus, but I never get around to it. I really need to get me one this next year.

It looks like a pretty color and from what I can see you have more buds on it for blooms to come.

My cold weather tip of the day is slip in your jammies, make a cuppa cocoa or, in my case, French vanilla cappuccino, and add a dollop of bourbon cream.
Stay warm!

Now that Thanksgiving is over, I hauled up the boxes of decorations and trimmed the tree, then set out the Nativity from my mother-in-law. There wasn't enough room for the shepherds, kings and camels, and I didn't want the ceramic forms to fall.
