Hi everyone. I'm new to the barter page, and unfortunately I haven't figured out the photo thing yet. Anyhow. . .I have a sunbonnet which I made that I'd like to barter with someone who'd like it. It is a tan on tan tiny floral pattern cotton fabric, just a basic sunbonnet (think Laura Ingalls, I guess). It has a nice wide brim and also a part that goes down to cover a few inches of your neck. Sunbonnets are really great for keeping the sun off you outdoors (especially if you wear a ponytail. . .fits right in nicely!). If you'd like a picture, I would be happy to email you a pic. As for what I'm looking for, I'd love a homemade soap, but I'm open to other suggestions, also. Thanks!

Hi Tracey, your sunbonnet is finally done and ready to mail! I had a few projects, etc. ahead of it (and life got really full somehow for a couple of weeks!) but anyhow, all I need is your address! It's a kind of sage green, green on green tiny print. Hope you love it!

Great bonnet! I adore sunbonnets. My granny always had one hanging around her neck during the summer. Same thing with her aprons, she always had one on.

Yes, the coffee soap is for removing smells. It does not have a fragrance itself but it does help to get the yucky smells away!! It works for onions for me, I am a vegetarian so I will have to ask my fish farmer friend if it works, as well, for her hubby.

Anything in the "earthy" tones is great for me! I am not picky at all!

And thanks, Georgann for the encouragement!
SheilaC Posted - Sep 19 2007 : 6:43:27 PM
Sure, Tracey! Any color requests? I have a question about the coffee soap. . .is that for removing smells? The reason I'm interested (besides onion smelling hands) is that my husband is a fish farmer and we're always looking for ways to un-stink his hands!! Let me know on the sumbonnet!!
Bonne Posted - Sep 19 2007 : 2:28:30 PM
Georgann, they really are nice! And perfect for me to putz in the garden and be protected from this mile high sun. It's got the ruffle on the back so your neck is protected too! I can see some done up in wild colors! (then I'd be a bee magnet though, huh? LOL)

Hey Sheila! I would LOVE a sunbonnet! I sew but no time to do so for myself. I do make soap and I have Vegan unscented Hemp, vegan hemp-o-mint (spearmint) and goat milk and lavender, also an unscented coffee kitchen bar. Those are the ones I have surplus of before batching for Christmas gifts!!

Any interest? Thanks for your consideration!

Hi Chris! I got the soaps, thanks! My husband likes them too! I've not sold the bonnets, but I'd be happy to make more for a barter. It doesn't HAVE to be soap. . .Let me know! Thanks!

My hat came today - it is very nice! So cute - I took it out of the package (my dh and i were on the way to town) and
put it on....I must say, people did look at me and smile, felt like Laura Ingalls....Even had a few men open doors for
me, tho people in this area do that for each other anyway, but i'd like to think it was because of my new bonnet. Do
you sell them also? Or just trade for soap? I'm thinkin that I'd trade again so I can give one to the soap lady - let me
know when you get the soap. Thank you again for the swap.

Bonne, I like your bonnet, very cute, and you did a very good job of taking your very own picture, twice!

Thanks Chris! I sent your sunbonnet out yesterday, also. My daughter wanted to keep it for herself! She already has a couple that she wears all the time. Enjoy! Thanks for doing the swap!
