I have a lot of old polyester clothing that I "inherited". What can I make it into? Or would anybody like to barter for some of these fun patterns?

I make lots of crocheted rag rugs and prefer the polyester over cotton any day. it is easier to work with and it wears forever, it doesnt rot or get weak like cotton. Fleece make fuzzy soft ones as well, or mix the 2 fabrics.

Okay, so graciegreeneyes digs the pattern of this dress. Anybody else? Who hates it or loves it? and what item made from this material would you dig? A shopping bag? Apron? Curtains? What else?

Yeah, Amy, polyester kinda makes me cringe, too. That's why I'm looking for other things to make with these old clothes. I know not many people are going to wear them if I just donate them to a thrift store.

I had already thought of getting a group of women together to make some quick lap quilts to donate to nursing homes, or some such. So that's a great idea!
For some reason, I hadn't thought of aprons out of the stuff, but I guess you're right. It IS durable! Okay, I'll try an apron and see how I like it. Thanks!

I dig that dress Kyria - unfortunately polyester, older stuff anyway, is no fun to wear. I used to sell vintage clothes and wore a lot of them but can't do the poly. Fun to look at for sure though:)

You could make some really cool work aprons! The polyester can take the added wear, especially with farm chores and gardening.
