While my mom, Ceejay, and I were on the Farmgirls On The Loose Roadtrip we were fed some absolutely amazing food made by some blessed farmgirls! One of which was this homemade salad dressing that was delicious!! WOW!!! When I got home to my store bought dressing, it just didn't have the same pizzazz! So here I am wanting to turn a new leaf! What is that new leaf? To make my own salad dressings! Here's where you come in! Would you share your favorite dressing recipe(s) with the rest of us? What are your homemade salad dressing recipe(s)?

This is the one I use most of the time, it is from the Make-A-Mix cookbook and they call it Home-Style Dressing.

2 teaspoons dried minced onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup buttermilk

If you want to use it as a dip for veggies, substitute 1 cup of sour cream or plain yogurt for the buttermilk.

I have three that I have been making for quite a few years. :)

FRENCH DRESSING

1 cup ketchup
1 cup sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup white vinegar
1 Tbsp celery seed
dash of liquid smoke

Combine with whisk until smooth. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

RANCH DRESSING:

1 cup mayonnaise (can't be Miracle Whip)
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1 Tbsp dill weed

Combine with whisk or mixer until smoother. Store in refrigerator in airtight container. Expiration date for this dressing will be the same as the earliest expiration date on the dairy products used for this recipe.

HONEY DRESSING:

6 Tbsp olive oil
2 Tbsp lemon juice
1/4 cup honey

Combine, beat until frothy. Serve, store leftovers in refrigerator. Will separate - just mix up again before using. Good with fruit or a lettuce or spinach salad.
