Ok Texas is one of the most Easiest states to homeschool in. You do not have to report to anyone or keep track of anything. I am on a local homeschool yahoo group but we arent very busy. There are more support groups but i wasnt willing to pay to have a membership. There are also other options too. We are doing a homeschool option thru a public school. They provide the books, computer, lesson plans, everything is done online and its all free.

What Angela and Catherine said. If you have an education store in your area they should carry the packets with the state specific HSLDA. It has the rules for Texas and a list of the homeschool co-ops and organization throughout Texas. And I'm sure it's easy to find on their website.

SETHSA...Southeast Texas Home School Association...www.sethsa.org It may not cover your area but it's a good place for information.

THSA....Texas Home School Coalition....www.thsc.org Has info. and resources for the whole state.

CHEACT....Christian Home Education Association of Central Texas....www.CHEACT.org

FEAST....Familiy Educators Alliance of South Texas.... www.homeschoolfeast.com

Those listed above are all 'regional' groups. There are tons of local sub groups in each area. I hope this helps.

Contact Home School Legal Defense Association, HSLDA. They are indespinsible! I am a member and have gotten lots of help info-wise and legal-wise from them. I love that I have back-up and someone to turn to for answers when I need them. I also love reading the daily and weekly teaching aides they send.

If you google HSLDA you should find the website!

Hi Fran!

It's too late to go find the info right now, but I do have the packet of resources for Texas and some other Co-op info/contacts. I'll get back with you tomorrow with the information. Where is Bonham located?

Julie
