I am working on opening up a new business with my daughter. We have been busy the last week comparison shopping for supplies and talking to others in the field. We have been discussing this venture for a year and it is finally all coming around. She is the driver, and I am tagging along. But we make a great team. I will post more about it soon.

Patty, so excited to hear your success. Are you opening the hut in addition to your truck? Gosh, you are busy. Joey

Business is great! We have been operating the truck almost 3 months. We park it at the same location every day (in a small shopping center parking lot). The property managers contacted us about a "coffee hut" in a city about 30 miles away. They asked us if we had any interest in leasing the hut for our coffee business. So here we go again! 16 hour days will not be ending soon. Hopefully, the hut will be opening this week. New signs are up, it is stocked and almost ready. :) We are so excited! Running on adrenalin!

Wow, we are on our second week of operation! We are doing well thus far. Great reviews on our coffee. Our coffee is specially blended for us and is delicious! We opened with a fundraiser and had free coffee while accepting donations for the local food pantry. We thought it would be an excellent opportunity to "practice". We then opened the same evening in a parking lot where high school football spectators parked. We have had a great reception and the community have been very welcoming. Oh my. We are still waiting.... We had to special order the grey water holding tank and it took a month for the plumber to install it after it arrived. Installed last week. Woot,Woot!!. Now, we are waiting for the health department to show up and give us our certification. This was suppose to happen yesterday. I thought I might share some pictures of the inside.

Patty so happy for you! How are you going to sell? Will you drive around to different spots or do you have a permanent space you will park. Have you thought about special evens like festivals and quilt show?

I will be sending you good thoughts. Did you ever find coffee you liked?

The lettering has been applied! We are not quite ready to open. Our opening day has been delayed just a bit as we wait for some special order equipment to come in, but we're still here! Hopefully it will only be a couple weeks until we're up and running. Stay tuned! We made a chalk board to place beside the truck to display specials out of an old baby bed. We are so ready, but yet not ready. :(

The truck gets the lettering applied today. We are still waiting for the gray water holding tank. It had to be special ordered. I think we are probably looking at an opening of 2 weeks away. Health department takes their time with inspections.

Oh Patty...this is so exciting and I'm glad you are sharing it with us! Living in the northwest, we love our coffee and take it rather seriously. Whenever I'm out in the mid-west, I always lament the fact that I can't find a good little coffee place. Now, if I ever get back out there, I'm going to have to find your coffee bar on wheels.

Can't wait to see more pictures!

Busy, busy, Busy... All the truck decals have been removed. We removed the 2 compartment sink, the single sink, grill and steam tables and put a new counter top in. We painted the cabinets. We are waiting for the new 3 compartment sink and hand washing sink (required by the health department)to arrive. They should arrive and be installed by the end of the week. Today I will go to Springfield for Barista training. WOOHOO! I AM GOING TO BE A BARISTA! I am pretty excited. I worked on water lines yesterday... might need a little expertise help here. Sometimes you need to walk away and sleep on it, and then sometimes you need to just scream for help. A moment where I realize that I am not the wonder woman that I think I am.
