Posted - Apr 29 2013 : 12:00:09 PM Help! I have a muscovy duck hen and noticed today that both of my male Toulouse geese r trying to um....service her. My question is, well um, is it possible for a goose to breed a large body duck successfully? Really curious to know if anyone else has experience in this area? Thanks sandy |

Posted - May 01 2013 : 06:16:31 AM No, you won't end up with any 'gucks' or 'deese'. :0) The two families are not related closely enough. But you will end up with a Muscovy with a sore back, so I'd also advise you to either separate the duck from the geese or trade a male Toulouse for a female. I have 2 African geese (both female) and they breed each other all the time! Sadly, they just can't figure out why their eggs won't hatch.

Posted - Apr 30 2013 : 06:23:10 AM I don't think it could be successful. It sounds like you need to trade one of your male geese for a female. They will probably end up hurting the duck. Male ducks and geese with sometimes try to mate with even chickens or dogs if they dont have a mate. Too bad we dont live closer. I have a friend who is looking for a gander for her geese.:) Laura
