Hi Farmgirls

I am putting a yurt on my property to hold herbal classes in and need to install some sort of bathroom so I don't have people running through my house (I have dogs so it becomes an issue at times).
So I am wanting to build an outhouse on my property...a gussied up one of course and was wondering if anyone knows of any good blueprints for one?? Not sure how deep a hole to dig etc etc...how to keep them smelling fresh etc...

Thanks
Jenn

As for plans you can just google those .. but just think outhouse. The only thing you have to rememember is venting a must!
We lived in an old Amish farm for several months and used the outhouse. The Amish dig a square hole about 5 feet deep and then put cement blocks for the actual "outhouse" to set on,keeps it level.
Lime or sawdust will help with both smell and the decompostition of the waste. We used lime.
