This afternoon, after my hubby and I finished stacking and tarping our hay he went to check on our llama, Rocky

He came in the house and told me that Rocky had passed away . . . we aren't sure what happened. My hubby suspects he might have been attacked, perhaps by a mountain lion. (They are here!)

He has lived in a big pen with apple trees just west of our house for over 20 years. He was about 24 years old, and we just enjoyed him as a pet and a very friendly, funny guy. He was mild-mannered, loved to give what we call "butterfly kisses" and just was so curious and interested in everything we were doing!

We are soooo sad! He will be GREATLY missed!!!!

Oh CeeJay my sweet friend. I'm so sorry. I haven't been online here for two weeks or so, as I've been with my hubby's visiting family. I'm so sorry. You must be so heartbroken. Big hugs and prayers your way.

Rocky was a lucky llama to have y'all as his family.

Thank you farmgirls! Your sweetness warms my heart!
We are trying to get used to not seeing Rocky in his orchard when we look out the office or our bedroom window, or see him run in his funny way to the fence when he saw us outside. Time will heal, I know . . . . but 23 years is a long time!!
Thanks again!
HUGS TO YOU ALL!!

A (the?) mountain lion was spotted crossing the road between 12:30 and 1:00 AM this morning when the neighbor girl was coming home.
Crossing the road about 100 yards down the road from my house!!!!

I'm so sorry, CeeJay. He looks like a very sweet guy. I was always afraid of llamas though. And donkeys. But I would have probably like Rocky.
