Had this idea while talking to a colleague of mine at the Extension Office.

Some of us are constantly in search of certain things. For example, twice a year, my colleague uses empty plastic water bottles for a science presentation she gives. A neighbor of mine is a preschool teacher and is always looking for plastic milk jug caps.

Some of the girls here make AMAZING things from recycled/repurposed items. Others are learning new skills, like me - I'm learning to crochet rugs from flannel sheets. I also am always looking for a few other items.

So I thought that if anyone else is in the same boat, it would be nice to have a place to post what we are "Always Looking For", and what we can barter in exchange. For example, I'm always looking for flannel sheets and shirts for various crafting projects. Also old blue jeans that are past their prime, and buttons. I'd be willing to send back some hand knitted dishcloths (in your color of choice), or a pair of pillowcases in your choice of colors.

Anyone else want to join in?

Hello,

I have not had internet access since October so this is the first time I have had enough band width to be able to search for this thread. I have flat sheets available to send to whomever needs them. Please email me your address and I will try to send them out promptly. If you want to barter most things are good. I have children and live on a small farm.

Hi Darlene, I haven't had time to work with the tabs yet. My Mom has had medical issues lately and I have had to help her everyday. Hopefully, this will be over soon. She is getting better. I really want to start a purse with the tabs. Thanks again for sending so many. Farm Girl Hugs, Brenda

Hi Darlene, I got the tabs yesterday. Thank You!!!! They are larger than pop tabs, but I think I can still use them to make a larger purse. Will let you know how they work out. It will be a while before I can get to them though. Thanks again!

I edited my original list on page 2 of this Thread.

Thank you Mz Margo,

I would love to incorporate your fabric into the quilt. I have started getting all the fabrics ready for the half square triangles and I think it will be a beautiful quilt.....with lots of love sewn in.

Hugs and prayers, Daizy

Hey gals.
I am still new to this, but I like this thread! I am always looking for old men's overalls. I like them baggy -- at least 40 or more for the waist size, as I can throw them over my jeans in a hurry to go help him in the field or barnlot. (They are also cooler in the summer!) I have worn overalls all of my life, and the new ones just ain't the same!

I'm sure I can find something of interest to trade, or if you happen to live in SE Iowa, I have lots of lovely farm fresh eggs!

Thanks!

Nancy

Thank you Mz Darlene, I will be sure to add your thoughts and love to the note I attach. He will be able to look at the note and read it over and over again. Telling him would not be enough. He talks a lot about how the homecoming reception was. It makes me sad.....made me mad back then. Thank you again for your help.

Hugs and prayers, Daizy

Hi Daizy,
I may have some material for your quilt.
Please tell your friend the Viet Nam Vet thank you for me and that I really appreciate what he did for our Country by putting his life on the line for us and our freedoms. At a time when people were not nice to those veterans, it was sad to see, Tell him he is in my prayers and give my love.

Hay ya'll,

I will add to my "always looking" list here by adding red and white and blue fabric. These can be pieces or swatches or fat quarters or garments. I need cotton type fabrics in these colors/shades to sew a Quilt of Valor quilt for a Vietnam Vet who fought for our FREEDOM. He lives here on my ranch and is retired. He is a really nice man and I want to sew it with fabrics from around the country. I will be adding a note with the locations of where the fabrics came from. Thanks for your help.

Hugs and prayers, Daizy

How heavy weight is the cardstock you are interested in? Do you want them cut to a certain size? I have some and if you want to trade would trade you for the return address labels and pack of 4 notecards.

I'm always looking for small rubber/cling/clear stamps with various greetings: happy birthday, love you mom, thanks, love you, miss you, thank you ect. And small brads and shirt thickness buttons, baker's twine in any color. I would be happy to take heavy weigh colored cardstock too. I make cards for operationwritehome.org and no money to buy extra supplies.
To trade: punchies/tags from punches I have on hand. A2 card fronts in colored/patterned cardstock. A sheet of return address labels for you. A pack of 4 notecards handmade by me.

Mz Margo,

I use a template. The plastic ones you get from sewing centers. I have all sizes. They are a challenge but I have found that if you press the fabric lightly to hold the folds down it is easier to sew them neater. I will try to post a photo soon for show and tell.

Thanks again for the fabric, Mz Darlene. Even the small pieces can be used for the smaller hexagons.

Hugs and prayers, Daizy
