Wondering if there is any other Frontier Girls troop leaders/momma. I'm thinking of starting a troop. We miss scouting and GS is no longer an option anymore for us. Thanks!

Also, I emailed Frontier Girls and asked because I have one boy (so far) and if you join Frontier girls they send you a free membership to Quest also so your whole family, boys and girls (and if I understood right they even recognize parents for participating) can participate for the cost of a FG family membership. Of course if you have ONLY boys it makes more sense to join Quest only which is a bit less expensive for a family membership. I believe there are a few benefits to FG over Quest if you have girls (Scholarship options for example) but you get the same rewards with just Quest. Just sharing the info I found since I spent a good chunk of time searching their website and emailing them yesterday :).

If you look on the Frontier girls website they have a link to Quest, its basically the exact same thing with the same badges and rewards but its coed-boys and girls can do it! Their family membership is very reasonable and you can set up a troop if you choose however you want. Also American Heritage Girls has a partner program for boys and then there is campfire kids and a few other things like that that are coed. If you look at the link I posted above it has a list of other scout programs, many of which are coed :)

Betty that's my question too! I have 2 boys 7 and 5. My girl is only 2 1/2 so I have a little while before I need to find something for her to do.

Just in case anyone else is looking for alternative scout ideas I found a list on the bottom of this page at frontier girls, I've looked up several of them and while some aren't for me there is something for everyone here in case the others mentioned don't fit your preferences :)

http://frontiergirlsclubs.com/clubs-for-girls/ Scroll to the bottom for the list! You will have to google each though they don't have links.

Oh I'm going to look into this, sounds interesting!! My girls are in American Heritage Girls and we are liking it so far, this is the first year we have done it and we are "Trailblazers" since we live in Germany and there is no troop here, but we get together with 3-4 other girls who are doing the same. I am planning to do the Young Cultivators program with my oldest (and my younger daughter when she turns 6). I've done a little Keepers of the Faith with my oldest when she was younger, I liked a lot of it, some of it I didn't love (didn't hate just didn't love) but since you can do it at home on your own you can totally tailor it however. I love this type of program as it works really well with how my daughter and I both learn and are motivated and so much of it can be part of homeschool curriculum. I wonder how much is too much :).

me either RoDonna. A Daisy came to my home last week selling cookies. I asked her if she was trying to go to Camp Little House (that was the day camp here for the daisy's and brownies) Seikooc was for overnight bigger girls. Her mom said no they were going to six flags...um exactly what does six flags have to do with girl scouts? I mean it's nice and all, but to me gs was about learning to care for others and yourself, camping, etc... not going to a theme park like six flags... arg!

Alicia...no problem.. I think that it's worth it.

Shannon...I'll look into them too. Thanks! :)

I've figured that you can use some of the Young Cultivator badges for them too. They have a whole section just for agriculture. I'm glad to be finding other things besides GS. Some may like it but it changed too much for me. It's not the same GS that I knew and loved and I don't think that the founder would have liked the changes either. It's too far off of what she imagined.

The website is www.frontiergirlsclubs.com

I'm excited about it. It works with homeschooling too. I think that she has homeschoolers and she also has two teen homeschoolers that help her in the office and makes the badges.
