I am applying for a scholarship to attend a writer's conference in June. It will be nearby in St. Louis. I can't afford the fee so I hope I can get a scholarship. I've been wanting to attend a conference for years but there was always the cost, and the distance---so I really hope this works out for me. St. Louis has been home to some great writers. And it's within easy driving distance so I can come home at night (it's a three day conference). I don't sleep well in strange places. Long live the book!
April 17--I've been accepted to attend the conference! I had to submit a sample of my writing as spaces are limited. Still don't know if I'll get a scholarship--I'm holding my breath.

Great! It is an honor being chosen from a writing sample. A lot of people "think" they could write well and this shows they believe it too.
I'll still keep praying for the scholarship to come through.
