I decided to go for a short hike today at a state park. The trail I chose was one I hadn't been on before. Well, it's not a very well-used trail , which didn't bother me--I don't mind climbing over and through fallen trees that are blocking the trail--and, like i said, it was short. When I got back to my car, I found about five ticks crawling on my jeans. UGH! So I pulled them off and when i got home, I found three on me--two under my bra and a very tiny tick on my leg. They came off easily and I flushed them. I hope there's none in my hair (I have long, thick hair). Disgusting creatures!

FYI- Deer ticks carry the bacteria on their bodies as well. So, if you touch one you should wash immediately and use some kind of oregano oil or other natural antibiotic to kill the bacteria.
I too like Kem have Lyme disease. It has taken me 9 1/2 years to feel human again. Only, by the grace of God and my new doctor am I still here!
If it were me, I'd get to my doctor and have them test you for Lyme disease now!!!!! No foolin around with this disease.

Oh my... Cindy... Yesterday I was in the pool and saw what looked like a tick crawling up the railing and thought of you as I triumphantly squished it into oblivion! Then this morning, I read this article online and thought of you again: http://www.wpxi.com/news/news/local/bug-looks-tick-what-it-why-are-there-so-many/ngYBS/ So, I am guessing that what we've got here aren't ticks, but rather weevils of some sort, much to my relief! I sure wish it could be the same for all of you who are suffering with ticks... Just please be careful! Lyme disease can be very serious! Hugs - Nini

I found one on my clothes after walking through the back yard a couple of months ago and I still feel it crawling sometimes!

Check out Pinterest too as there are many insect repellents you can make yourself. I spray my clothes and shoes and I wear long pants and long sleeves in the summer when anywhere near the high grass or woods.

There are natural insect repellents you can make. Google it and see if you can find one to protect yourself. I don't mean to scare you, but if you have a red ring or two develop where you picked one off of you get to the doctor and get on Doxycycline for a couple of month, 10 days won't help you . This is very important. I have Lyme Disease and I can tell you that I have been very ill for over 5 years. Do not ignore this if you have a bulls eye or develop a rash or feel like a flu sets in you cannot get rid of. Sorry to be a downer, just do not want anyone going down the road I have traveled. |

We have been seeing them out in full force here Cindy. Just stepping out the door and we need to check for them. I bought a package of tick keys from Farmer's Almanac store. Easier and safer way to get them off the skin if they are no longer crawling. They are easy to pick off when crawling but these remove them if they have started to stick. They do seem to die down after a bit but they are so prevalent in the beginning.
I too worry about them in my hair or on my scalp n but my hair is blonde so it is fairly easy to see them unless they are in back but I check the best I can.
