Not sure if this pic is showing up or not, but I have started creating these wreaths and I am having a blast. I have looked on Etsy and Pinterest and haven't found any quite like mine. I am getting ready to meet with a coffee shop manager who sells local art and I am wondering what price to put on them...The supplies cost close to $20 and of course, there is the time it takes to create them. I have tried to get a good estimate of pricing to see what other similar items cost on Etsy, but the prices are all over the place there... any suggestions? I have more wreaths and will try to post more pics...Also would like suggestions on a name for my business... thanks in advance!!!

Rosemary, thank you so much for the suggestion, and Yes, I am looking for used wreaths at the Goodwill to recycle...they are around $2-$3 there ;-) Any suggestions for finding burlap wire ribbon for cheap? I am paying about $5 per roll...and I use a lot.

Posted - Aug 26 2014 : 07:50:19 AM When pricing, don't forget shipping cost is going to be a BIG factor. I make fresh Sweet Annie wreaths and they cost a lot to ship (weight of fresh herb). So some times you have to think about that too. My costs are low as I use a lot of recycled frames for my wreaths. I know when I shop on line I ALWAYS look at the shipping cost and add that to the price of the item. Sometimes more often than not I can get the item I want locally at a fraction of the cost on line. Good luck with your sales, your wreaths are very pretty.

Posted - Aug 22 2014 : 8:54:07 PM I like Marie's suggestion for figuring the cost. There is also an ipad (and I'm sure iphone) app for figuring up how to price your crafts that takes into account the supplies, time and taxes (I think, can't recall 100% on that part). Your wreaths are beautiful! Ones that I've seen in shops usually go for around $50 (and up, I've seen a few that are $100) so you should be on the mark with charging that. Good fortune!!!

Posted - Aug 21 2014 : 1:03:49 PM Looking up burlap wreaths on etsy, $50.00 seems pretty average. They're pretty, if you enjoy making them you should try etsy.

Posted - Aug 21 2014 : 09:09:07 AM Marie, Thank you so so much for your input! This info is SO helpful!!! Each wreath takes about 2 hours (roughly). So, based on your info, I should charge $50.00.

Posted - Aug 21 2014 : 08:48:03 AM How much time do they take to make and how much is your time worth? Make that calculation and add it to the cost of the materials. Next, multiply that by 33% and add that to time and labor. Example: Materials - $20, Time - 1 hour, Hourly Wage - $10. Cost of materials and labor = $30. Markup = $10. Total price = $40.
