We had such a nice day today. We have not been making as much time for little getaways lately and trying to be more frugal than ever so that we could help out one of the kids financially this month... today we packed a nice lunch of homemade burritos(that means homemade tortillas too) and a fresh fruit salad and drove out to the lake for a picnic. We have a yearly pass on the Jeep so no cost to get in. We ate, talked and even napped and then drove home the long way talking about all the changex in iur area since we were kids. We both grew up in this area. We stopped at Avila fruit barn, looked around, petted critters and didnt buy a thing and then came home. Such a simple day but with the right person it was wonderful.

Inside me there is a skinny girl crying to get out, but I can usually shut her up with cookies.

My hubby and I have been taking one day a week for an escape to "my mountains" . . . hiking, picnic, driving through the mountains, etc. Sometime we stop, hubby takes a nap and I read or stroll while waiting on him . . :D

Met my husband at Cal Poly. don't remember Avila Fruit Barn. Remember the apple farms and of course the bonfires on Avila Beach... I bet you had a lot to talk about the changes in that area. We were there in the mid to late 80s.

Oh Jenny we do the same things at times. I hurt my back in July so we really hadn't done much and I was feeling down so just out of the blue Bob says Get the dog get in the van we are going on a quiet picnic. So he packed up something to eat and off we went. We went to the beach and not a soul was around. We had a wonderful time and it renewed my spirit. I am so lucky to have found him-----well visa versa too. LOL

Sounds wonderful. I am so happy that you're happy with your man. I agree with Lisa, I can feel you beaming and smiling.
