I apologize if this is not the right place to post these questions but I thought since in the end we are to print/embroider and sew onto something our badges, maybe "crafting" would be a good category to ask?

1. For those who have already done badges, what type of material did you get to print them on and did you use a printer to print or did you trace them onto the fabric somehow?
2. I know I want to put my embroidered ones on an apron. Does anyone have a good, free apron pattern I could use?
3. If you sew your badge onto your apron and then later earn a higher level in that badge, do you stitch right through the apron to add the Intermediate or Advanced stitches?

Thank you in advance for any advice.

Emily, I wish I had a nice printer like yours. Alas, I do not.

Starletta, I love the idea of the lightbox window tracing so I think I will give that a try. Than you for the link you shared. The ideas there were helpful.

I think I am going to put mine on an apron. Maybe what I will do is complete all 3 levels on 1 badge before sewing it to the apron. This way I can fully embroider it before afixing it in place. Does that seem reasonable?

There are some ideas here
http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=41261

I use muslin and a fine point quilt marker and a farmgirl light box to copy the pattern onto my fabric. On a sunny day, tape the pattern on a window and then tape the fabric over that. You can see the pattern well enough to trace it and ta-da! You have a pattern ready to embroider. Hope this helps.

I bought fabric that goes through my printer like paper. It isn't cheap but works great. I don't remember what it is called but I think most quilt shops will have it. Ii haven't actually put my embroidered badges on anything yet. I know some ladies do sew another row as they level up. One or two actually sew little buttons on the badges to indicate levels to avoid the sewing on more after it is on (I think that is why anyway). I think both would look fine.
