Posted - Apr 08 2015 : 10:14:43 AM Hello! My name is Robin and this is my first post here. I am 53, married, and have 5 children and 7 grandchildren. I homeschooled all my children and am still working with my last one, Tabbi, who is 11. We live on 85 acres of mostly forest. We started an organic garden a few years ago and I "can" and freeze as much as I can. We are now starting to clear some land and start a permaculture operation. We have 17 chickens, two dogs, three cats and a guinea pig. I enjoy quilting, sewing, embroidery and working with felt. Our family also has a Bluegrass Gospel band called "Family Ties". I play mandolin and fiddle. I am enjoying reading the posts in Farmgirl Connection and am hoping to get to know some of you!

Posted - Apr 09 2015 : 11:52:42 AM Thank you all for the warm welcome! MaryJane, we do not have a website for our band. But I will post a picture for you to see! It's from a couple of years ago. We took a break for a while and are just getting started again. We once had seven members, but we're down to four most of the time now! (Those darn children just have to grow up and move away!)

Posted - Apr 08 2015 : 1:09:26 PM Welcome, Robin. I was reading your introduction post sort of quickly because I am at work (it's okay -- my boss is my sweetie and he knows I have spare time!) and thought for a second that you were starting a "parachute" operation! Caught my attention for sure! ha ha
Sounds like you have your hands and heart pretty full. Isn't life a wonderful thing? Glad to have you in the Sisterhood. I have been enjoying "meeting" new people and learning new skills as I work toward my merit badges. The Farmgirl Sisterhood was just the boost I needed to pull myself out of a creative rut.
Play on!
