Sounds lovely, Mary Jane! I hope you get to do some beachcombing and get sand and surf between your toes! I'm jealous! That's one of my favorite things to do!

You know you're a farmgirl when you're racing around getting ready to leave (showing hubby baby chick and bottle-fed calf care) and you hop into the bathtub, dunk your head under and suddenly there are floating pine needles, leaves, and dried lilac blossoms in the tub with you.

That's a wonderful idea for our merit badges, MaryJane. I'll have to remember that.

Thank you all so much! Gosh oh golly. Life IS good. You, my family, and co-workers make it so VERY so!

I'm packing my bags for a quick trip to Hawaii, my daughter's b-day/mother's day gift to me. Just the two of us. Beach, books, just-plucked mangos/pineapples/avocados here we come. And of course some embroidery--I'm embroidering my grand daughters' Cultivator Merit Badges right along with them so I can make their badges into a quilt someday. They haven't decided what they want to do with theirs yet, totes probably. Aloha!

Happy Birthday Mary Jane. You are such an amazing role model for people; to remind us that we can create a lifestyle that is meaningful in-spite of what chaos and factors of the culture that are out of our control around us. I still remember your wise words to me, "Everything is good in our world, right?" So your example and sharing knowledge on how to "take what is good" from the agrarian decades taught me how to enrich my living today. I am having the time of my life now and so is my husband because of forging ahead onto the Mary Jane Farmgirl path. I know the heavenly trumpets are announcing a joyous day for you. All the best to you. Thank you for your gracious guidance. Yours truly, Annie

Happy Birthday! Hope you have a wonderful day today and every day. I haven't been on here in a while so when I saw this I thought it was the perfect way to get back to being a farmgirl again.

Thank you, thank you! Today is a special day because RedTractorGirl (Winnie) is HERE! I had a salmon dinner with her last night cooked over a campfire. How cool is that for a b-day wish coming true? We have a fun day planned. It was wonderful for everyone here to meet her for the first time yesterday. It was also our Cultivators' class so she joined in to help us plant potatoes. 62, woo-hoo, 71 here I come.
