Hi everyone! I have been in contact with Kathleen Smith, from Carbondale, IL, she works with Food Works. http://eatsouthernillinois.org
Anyway, she does a 4 hr workshop for people interested in starting small farms or helping the regional food systems and the imperative of relocalizing our food supply. Sadly, there isn't a lot like this that I can find in our area. She has offered to come to Indiana and give a talk for gas money.
I am hoping to reach out to people who are just getting their feet wet and learning about the vital aspects of this. Is there any interest?

Kat spoke at our recent Sierra Club meeting on eating local. I recommended her after hearing her speak at a program in St. Louis. Isn't she great? Very passionate and committed to what she believes in. People need to heed her warnings of what GMO's and herbicides/pesticides are doing to the environment. Not to mention our children's bodies and brains. Basically, the pirate seed corporations are using us as guinea pigs in their insane drive to make a profit. As herbicide use has increased, so has the incidence of autism in children. You used to never hear of autism, now everyone knows someone who is autistic. People need to eat local and eat organic--the life you save may be your own.
