Posted - Jul 06 2015 : 2:30:52 PM Hi! I am a new member here, and this is my very first post. I have "lurked" on this forum for a few years, but became an official member a few weeks ago. I look forward to "getting to know" some of you and am excited about what lies ahead.
I thought I would reach out, today...as our last and youngest son moved out of the house today to go to Providence, Rhode Island to attend graduate school. We are so excited for him, but my heart is breaking. This is even harder than I ever imagined. The "letting go" process is not always easy...especially these last 6 months...my mom passed away this past January, my dad doesn't know me anymore, due to his dementia, and now my youngest has moved out, on his own. I know that "this, too, shall pass", but the transition won't be easy.
Anyway...I look forward to being a part of this sisterhood!
Thanks for "listening"! |

I will write back, though! Thanks so much! |

Posted - Jul 07 2015 : 08:27:06 AM Beverly, I feel for you having been through just that scenario. It is hard when they leave. We have to re-invent ourselves as something other than mom for awhile. Focus on what you can do with yourself and hubby now. Good luck. Enjoy your adult children.
