Hi Beverly,
I've got two in college that I LOVE to put together care packages for. Will you be giving me a time frame so that he doesn't get all these boxes at once?
I was in India in 1985 or 86 as part of a class. Our group did theatric performances all over the country. I love the culture, the kind people and the yummy food (when it's not too hot!)
Yellow and purple would be my favorite silk colors. I also collect snow globes -- as tacky and inexpensive as possible. So if there's one of anything from India -- I'd love it.

Very very busy...noise you don't notice because you are so busy focusing on the colors. This is quite an experience for tourists to see.
I have 2 gals from Canada coming this week....I may suggest this.

The 2. On the end are like a soft pleat. The store s I went to are in Old Delhi called Kitani Bazzar....or Bride Street....You ride a open rick shaw and go through the narrow lanes to shop for lots and lots of glitz. It is a bit too too for me...and if anyone is ever interested I can go back and get all the sparkly ribbon. I had fun..Tuesday I will go get the silk ribbon....and post the photo.Bride Street sells beads,decor for weddings,decorated boxes for the upcoming big holiday called Divali...a very colorful area.

The good news is....I have an assortment of ribbon to offer.......the bad news is it is Not silk. I have talked to the dealer and he is willing to sell less amount.

Beverly, I joined the farmgirl sisterhood last April. I'm sorry, but I missed your story of how you ended up in India.From what I can tell, you split your time between the US and India. What part of India? Are you in a city or rural setting? I am just curious. It sounds adventurous and romantic????? I had an uncle who lived, with his wife, in Bolivia and Peru for many many years.

Hey there gal friends...glad there is some interest...I need each one of you to send an idea about what you are looking for ...raw silk? Brocade? Solids? Prints? Colors? I will send a similar match picture...You tell me how much yardage..I will get it and ship it to you.,as you send my son a care package of goodies. He likes hot things,but will appreciate almost anything.Big big big chai drinker...not into herbal teas.
I have done these barters for years.....they are fun...so write back....and let me know what you have in mind.I look forward to having fun. Will look into silk ribbon

Hi Beverly,this is a nice offer. I am interested. Some silk fabric would be awesome. Do you ever run across silk ribbon? I have seen some, hand dyed, used in tote bags and vests. If you come across some that is reasonable, 9that would be great. Now, what kind of things would your son enjoy in his care package? Do you want to give us a schedule of when to mail, so we don't all send his packages at the same time? Does he have favorite snacks, coffees, hot tea etc.?
