****Please ignore hubby's messy desk!

I couldn't resist taking an old hoosier cupboard that we had stored for many years up at camp and dressing it up a bit! John Gould vintage bird prints with pages from Dante's Divine Comedy adorn the three cupboard doors. I used dutch boy chalk paint in "Swedish Sky" distressed and sanded some spots to reflect wear and sealed the whole thing with Johnson's paste wax (several coats!)then added some remnants of tongue and groove panels (white-washed) for the backboard and..... VOILA hung it in our favorite room in the house-The Front room. I love the color and the bird prints. I must have birds on the brain lately, but it's such a classic cottage chic theme.....

I think I am going to put the decoupage aside for a while and go back to my weaving now that I have a new tension box. Winter for me is a time for weaving and working with fiber. Thanks for bearing with me and my posts regarding collage and decoupage art. I always get such good response and inspiration from my farm-girls.

Speaking of wine boxes! I did this a few weeks ago based on a book called the Last Resort with my favorite illustrator Roberto Innocenti---The box is huge and will holds lots and lots of treasures!

Marie...that would be an Awesome Decoupage Project!!! I have made several stationary boxes
over the years. The only one I still have is a Starbucks Box that I still use for Christmas
Cards each year. Please be sure and post a picture when you get yours done.

Love and Hugs,

I adore the decoupage. I have just received the most beautiful flat wooden box with a clasp and hinges I want to decoupage.

I want to use this box for all my nice stationery. I am inspired by your work Melody.
