It's time to sign up for December Mail Art

If this is your first time signing up for Mail Art, please visit the topic Farmgirl Mail Art under the Farmgirl Swap heading to read our guidelines. Then leave a comment on that post if you want to participate and I will contact you.

FOR DECEMBER, please leave a comment on this thread stating you'd like to participate. Sign-up is available through December 15th. If your comment appears after you've posted it, that means you're on the roster.

Cristy (Quiltwright) has chosen this month's theme and it is Childhood Memories. Fun! This is a great theme coming into the Christmas holidays too, so many childhood memories....

I will send an email with your partner to you on December 16th. Please send your Mail Art before December 31.

A couple of things to keep in mind:
1. Traditionally, Mail Art has been "secret"; part of the fun is receiving a surprise package from a surprise partner. I would encourage you not to tell your partner who you are until a reasonable amount of time has passed for them to receive your art.
2. Please be sure to include enough postage for your Mail Art to reach its destination :)

If you have any questions or concerns, please send me an email. I'm always delighted to help.

Happy Swapping!

Kristine

Hi all:
Am I correct that we are to keep our identity secret whilst sending this art mail?
Thanks!

Kristi, that is perfectly okay. I know you are busy and especially since it was right before the holidays. I am so glad you liked the book. I had so much fun putting it together. I just wanted to make sure it had not been lost.

Hugs,

Thank you Cristy, on a fantastic December Mail Art.

The hand sewn and quilted Backgammon Board was beautifully done!
The colored buttons were a perfect touch.
Getting in touch with our nostalgic past -- it would be so correct to use what we had to make clothes, games, and household items.
The old "Waste Not, Want Not" principle was in effect in my household when I grew up.

I loved the Dutch Girl personal sewing kit.
And the Necco Candy Wafer candies was one of my favorites I would share with my friends.

I hope the picture come through okay.

Sarah I'm so glad you liked them, and thanks for posting a pic to the forum. I'm slowly gathering up everyone's photos and I'm making a gallery to showcase our art. Stay tuned and keep the photos coming

Portia you were most certainly feeling my vibe today! I was standing in line at the pharmacy when I suddenly realized I had not posted the picture I took of your amazing mail art! So here it is. I love this accordian book all about you, filled with cool ephemera and snippets of your childhood memories. Thank you for taking the time to make this for me and my apologies for being so late in acknowledging its arrival.

I received my mail art on Thursday and it is very creative a black canvas with a white painting of a Christmas ball outlined on it and a saying inside on the bottom attached is red and green clothespins to attach photographs and memories to look at. Nice during this holiday season, to look at those great memories. Thank you so much Sarah "Backwoods" I love it and it is on my wall. You did a great job, Sheila Farmgirl #5766

I hope this picture makes it - look what Santa (my postman) delivered to me last night! Seven big gingerbread men and women - a little teddy bear and plenty of beverage mixes - along with a wonderful story. Thank-you Marilyn in Texas for an additional Happy Cheer on Christmas day.
