Hey there farmgirls,

I'm wondering if there are any seeds of ideas planted in our minds for a theme for our 2016 Farmgirl Jubilee.

I don't have anything specific in mind myself, but just wondering . . .

I know it's only January but time does have a way of flying by!

Well, I received one of those cute egg gathering bib aprons from Karla yesterday! What a surprise! I don't have chickens so no eggs to gather, but I'll be able to gather things from the garden such as tomatoes, peppers, etc.

Good thing I didn't hang anything outside because it would have blown away in the horrible wind yesterday afternoon, OR gotten soaked in the rain this morning. Rain that has some snow mixed in! Welcome to springtime in the Colorado Rockies!

Beautiful, thoughtful bouquet CJ.

Thank you all so much for your b-day wishes. Sweet Carol is taking tomorrow off and so am I ... in my garden. But first, hubby and I are going to enjoy breakfast over a campfire. Also tomorrow, I have three 3# packages of honey bees being delivered that I'll need to get tucked into their hives. So tomorrow is a bee day b-day for me.

To my total surprise and absolute delight this GORGEOUS bouquet of flowers was delivered to me this afternoon. They came with a card that says "Happy Farmgirl Jubilee, Karla". From a sweet farmgirl who has been so generous to me and was a member of our former Henhouse.
Yes, I cried! What a special, thoughtful treat to help me celebrate Jubilee weekend!
Thank you Karla!

I was reading through this thread and wondering if we wrre still giving ideas for the poster. I was thinking a cow or calf, a tractor, chickens, aprons, canning or garden things. So many things to choose from.

Mary Jane and Amy, what wonderful aprons. I wonder if whoever made the Victorian one needed to feel feminine and not so farmy. Lol

MaryJane, love the aprons, especially the Victorian one...so YOU!!

Amy, your gypsy apron is FANTASTIC!! Love it <3 So girly :-)

My Jubilee will be simple, as it is my first one. I will be attending the first Outdoor Farmers Market of the season where I hope to pick up my starter tomato and pepper plants. Then I'm meeting a friend for a nature walk around Moreau Lake. Afterward, we will share lunch together. Then I will head home, put on my gardening gloves, and play in the dirt. It's too early to plant (zone3-4) but I will get the areas ready for Memorial Day planting.
