Now that the holidays are past and I'm looking forward to glamping season I'm working on a few little projects for the "Reiver's Rest".

This is my "Doily Bunting" that we can use wherever we want to, outside or inside the glamper, around the canopy, etc.

I took 5 doilies, cut them carefully in half, sewed them into pale green quilt binding, sewed light purple grosgrain ribbon in the ends for tying the bunting up and sewed light green/lavender with floral design ribbon on top to "dress" it up a bit. The third doily from the left on the bottom row is a small one that I just tucked into the binding, it didn't get cut in half.

Close up of the ribbon I used to embellish.

The bunting is 9 feet long not including the ribbon ties.
I'm happy with the result!

When we're able to go glamping in June I can take pics of how we use these buntings and post them. But you'll have to wait until then!

Another "Doily Bunting"! This time with some dark green doilies, one that is embroidered and an oblong crochet piece with a pansy on it. The green ones don't work anywhere in my house really and I thought the piece with the pansy, even though an odd shape, with folding down the top a bit would give the bunting a different look.

Using purple quilt binding, 9 feet long with ecru colored grosgrain ribbon on the ends for tying it up.

It'll work nicely with the other "Doily Bunting" I made for our glamper!

P.S. In April or early May, though, it will be time to clean out the garden so we can get it tilled and ready to plant. Seeds get planted usually in mid-May and plants not until after June 9th. We pretty much always have a late frost that destroys plants that are set out before that.

Bonnie,
I usually don't get that work done until April. But we had a break in our weather and it just worked out and I'm sighing a sigh of relief that it is done! YAY!

Lucky you to get your spring bed cleanup done. Great timing. There will still be time for glamping. We won't get out in the yard until April or May.

Working on glamping goodies is kinda on hold right now as I thought, with our warmup in weather and melted snow, it would be a good time to get my flowerbeds, rock gardens and herb garden cleaned out for spring growth.
I'm happy to say it's all done and there is new green life coming up!

That being said... I was at our little library dropping off books for the upcoming Book Sale... so I perused the shelves and spotted this truly fabulous card crafting bookk so I decided to check it out (we get 3weeks) to read and glean some great ideas.
"Creative Cardmaking. A complete guide "..by Maryjo McGraw...2004. I am actually going to try the polimer clay idea on cardstock. But 1st I have to buy polymer clay... lol... yep, I can see it being a UFO... lol!

Thanks Denise! The colors go with the theme of our glamper . . . plum, sage and cream. And a Scottish/shabby chic/cottage look!
We are using a lot of lacy things in our trailer!

This was a linen "pocket" that I found at a thrift store a long time ago. When going through some of my linen collection I rediscovered it and decided to make something for the glamper. It is 7 1/2" wide and 8" tall. I sewed a piece of natural colored heavy duck to the back with a strip of plastic in the top to stiffen it and so that it would hang nice and flat. Added a length of lace that matches the lace I've used in the glamper. I think it'll work well for little lightweight treasures, hankies, a few postcards, etc. Plan to hang it in the glamper for decoration.

Last summer we started a journal "The Journey's of the Reiver's Rest" with the story of how we got the trailer, our glamping adventures last summer, etc. So, now we can keep telling her story, use as a guest book . . . whatever. I started writing in it while we were out last summer, Robin took it home with her and wrote about our adventures during the summer. Then I've crafted it into a journal in "Reiver's Rest" style. The lace matches lace that I used in the trailer too.

The front:

The back:

Closeups of some of the embellishments, which include Celtic knot buttons

The heart charm was given to me by a farmgirl some time ago, decided this was the perfect place for it.

Inside the front cover, a pocket page

Pocket page inside back cover

And, a page marker to match!
