Hay there,

Several groups I am a member of do an annual Winter Camp IN. Meaning you camp wherever you are and however you can.

I will be out in my Scotties. The 69 Sportsman needs to have a wall replaced so I will be removing the old one. I have to empty it out first so I will do some moving in there.

The 68 Highlander needs a few new windows and painting but also needs to be emptied out to get to the walls and windows. I will be moving all that stuff out and taking measurements and checking the internet at night for supplies.

Does anyone want to join me in the CAMP IN? It will be the first annual one for MJF. Post your photos and lets have some winter fun!

Hugs and prayers, Daizy #1093

When my life was consumed by a daycare, working 12-14 hours a day, as the director, I ran away one morning. It was a cool drizzly spring day and MJF was calling to me. I had read the magazine's and the books. I knew part of me was missing. I was torn between doing God's work and caring for myself. Finally we (He and I) agreed I needed a break. So about 9:00am, after the teachers, cook and kids were all safely in their places, I came home. I made a pot of tea, grabbed a MJF magazine, a quilt and sat on the porch in a rocker for 45 minutes. Then I returned to work, just in time to check in on each group as they said their blessings before going to lunch. I never told anyone where I had been, I suppose they thought I was on a Wal-Mart run. But I did thank God for my "mental health" break. After that, when I was inside and the weather was nice or drizzly...I had a smile about the day I ran away. It was just what I needed.

Cindy,
Well, glamping is an attitude, a state of mind . . . so I think anything counts for a "camp-in".

I was there in spirit! I saw a picture of a Tipi (inside and out) on-line and pretended I was camping in it. Oh, and I did go downstairs to my basement where the temperature is only 51 degrees. But I didn't stay down there--too many creepy-crawlies!

Ok ladies, here's what I was able to throw together last minute. We had already spent afternoon at a financial class at church and a late lunch. We just hung out and stopped to visit kinfolk then home to our roost. Luckily, I got online to check some threads that I follow, and I saw this one. Here's a peek at our evening Camp In. Although a night underneath the stars would have been nice, we elected to sleep in our bed with curtains draped for canopy effect and a few creature comforts.

WHAT FUN ! ! !

Dang it! I missed it! When is the next one? It would be so much fun making some blanket and sheet tents. It would make me feel like a kid again!

Thanks! My sister helped me, she is really good at making them. I did skim through(and actually read part of) Glamping with MaryJane. Renovating a glamper could make such a cool 4-H project. Of course it is inside, the wind chill last night was -13(I think I might be frozen into an ice cube by morning ;)

Daisy I'll Camp-In in my rocker with a glass of Merlot and British comedies and mysteries on the Telly. Enjoy that cup of coco and don't bump your head under the table ~ I meant to say the tent.

Hay there,

I was out in the campers early this morning and did a little work with my hammer and pliers (lots of staples in these old campers). I have a couple of photos that I will post soon. They are such a major mess that I don't think I can find a place to lay my head so I will make hot chocolate and a fire in the fireplace and camp inside. Might even throw a sheet over the table and pretend to be a kid again but the hot chocolate is a definite.
Happy CAMP-IN !!!!

Well, mine will certainly be in because of the snow (it IS melting) and the mud and below freezing temps at night. I'm just glad we've had a warmer week and that the snow is melting! Who knows though!

My camp-in would probably in front of a non-burning woodstove as it is supposed to be only in the 50's here with almost 80 degree days! Very unusual for February here. Sounds fun!

I'm in Daisy. With a little bit of imagination and a can of Wolf Brand Chili I can Camp-In today and tomorrow, but got to confess no sleeping on the floor for this 'little old lady'. Good day to work on Merit Badges, bird watch, and take a hike around the block.

Hay there,

Duh....forgot to post the date! Its always the weekend of Valentines Day....so THIS WEEKEND!!! You don't have to go out in the freezing cold to camp and some campers are stored for the winter. That's why its called CAMP-IN. You can camp anywhere and any way you want......remember the sheets over the dining room table and we, as kids, would camp under the table?!? That's the idea....join us on the couch or floor or den. Its a mind set mostly. If you do have a camper then, by all means, get out there and enjoy it. Take yourself a glass of wine and a heater and good book and just revel in the outdoors. If you like to tent camp and want to do that then pitch it!! Its a mind-set. Its enjoying the idea!! Make it fun! And always be safe.

Happy CAMP-IN !!!!
