Dear Farmgirls, it is with a heavy heart that I am passing on this bad news about one of our sisters. Portia Troupe was killed in a car accident yesterday. She was an art enthusiast and a regular swapper and leader on our forum; she was especially supportive of me while I worked to get our mail art program off the ground. I am so very saddened by the news and I'm trying to figure out how we might honor her memory this month. I am sending a card to her husband Don, but I was also thinking it would be nice to send something a little more special that would reflect our condolences. Maybe a collage of pictures of the mail art she contributed?? Please flood my inbox with ideas and I will make it happen.

I hugged my family extra tight last night and told them how much I love them. Portia's death is a reminder that everything can change in one instant.

Deborah, I had only been in swaps with her for less than a year...but several times I emailed her to ask about the techniques she used in her card making. She always responded and gave me helpful information. She was always kind and sweet. A Godly woman.

Thank you Marilyn. But I have to apologize, I think I was in such shock when I read about Portia's passing, I did not notice that it was in 2016.
I feel foolish for my blunder, and especially that I sent out an email to Beth J and CeeJay about it last night. I am sorry for not noticing the year, but I am not sorry for
what I said about Portia. She truly was a very special lady and farmsister.

I have been away from MJF for awhile and did not know. I had known Portia for a little over 7 years. She will certainly be missed forever, but always she will remain in our hearts.

Deborah, we were all shocked when Portia suddenly
went to join our Heavenly Father. You have put into words, very eloquently, the way we all felt about this special lady. Thank you.

Kristi,

How heart breaking. Portia was so unique and one of a kind. She loved all her farmsisters.
I was blessed to have known her for 7 beautiful years. I was blessed beyond measure by her friendship.
My very first farm-sister gift came from her. She loved my farmgirl name "Buzzn Bee" and had commissioned
a teapot with a handpainted bee on it. She was a very devout servant of the Lord. She was never afraid to
let her Christian light shine. She certainly has shined a path for many of us farm-sisters. We will
miss her terribly.
Rest in Peace dear friend. Until we meet again may your Heavenly Apron be spun from the purest gold and may your
apron pockets be filled with the love of your Lord and Savior as well as all your farmsisters.

Oh, this is so sad! I received a wonderful felt heart from Portia in one of the swaps- it's big and happy and I had told her it seemed like she had sent a big hug to me through the mail. I am sorry I am unable to get a copy of it sent off to you, though, Kristi, to add to your collage. Thank you for sharing the photo of the flowers you sent- they are beautiful.

Blessings to you on your life's journey.

I am just stunned and saddened. With all the art and creative cards that I have received from her over the past years, it feels like I know her. God's strength and Grace to her family during this time. I know she was received with open arms by Heaven and all the Angels.
