My bff is a second grade teacher. Her student last year was diagnosed with a brain tumor last year, DIPG, This horrible disease is just awful, with a 1% chance of survival.

I met Brooke and have been teaching her knitting. She is amazing, and brave, and strong. I am in awe of this precious baby, who is eight years old. She has been approved for a clinical trial, and so far she is stable! Woo Hoo! That's good news!

The community did a 5K this weekend. It was to support Brooke with love and to raise awareness of this awful cancer beast. My bff and I went. Now, I walk alot but I DO NOT RUN! Well, we did it! Connecticut is really hilly, but what fun we all had! I also was not last, lol!

700 people showed up. Brooke was so happy! When I went to say goodbye I asked her if I could give her a hug, or had she had too many already. She said, "I've had too many hugs today but I want everyone to have one, so here!" And she threw her little arms around me. How cute is that?!

Keep my little friend in your prayers. She is a trooper!

How wonderful that you are able to not only support her with the run, but have befriended her and taken the time to teach her to knit! She is in my prayers.

What a great way to support this precious little girl! I have done a few runs to support those in need and it makes you feel so good in the end and I don't run either, ha ha. Good for you and your friend! Sending prayers for cute little Brooke!
