katmom	Posted - Oct 16 2016 : 7:12:16 PM Well I leave at the crack of dawn on Thursday for 4 days of glamping at the Hearst Ranch in San Simeon, CA. It is a 8000 ac cattle ranch... I have my trailer all cleaned up and ready as well as wrapped up (currently it has been raining for a few days)... soon as the rain passes,, the cover will come off... but at least she is loaded and ready to roll (except for food).. New shoes.... ready to go.. solar porch light charged up.. my GPS system!!! Then we can move a little North and in the county, buy a camper and truck and hit the open road. katmom	Posted - Apr 27 2017 : 2:07:56 PM The weather is finally starting to turn around,,,still cold winds,,, but the rains have let up.. my 1st glamping trip for this year won't be till June,,,, I have to many "home reno" projects going on to sneak away... that's 'Scotty'.('63 Serro Scotty).. on the rt. I draped a vtg iron board with lace and a vtg table cloth to use as an outside table,,, it had wine glasses and bottles of wine on it in the evening... :>) and do you recognize the blue/green one on the far left?? that is Mig's "Island Girl".('71 Shasta).. it was used in MaryJane's Glamping book.... too cute! >^..^< Happiness is being a katmom and Glamping Diva! www.katmom4.blogspot.com & http://graciesvictorianrose.blogspot.com

I on the other hand wake up sluggish.... so I usually don't indulge in naps unless I am not feeling well. This was a rare occasion when I had nothing planned and the warmth of my lil trailer lulled me into snooze land! Plus I didn't want to disturb my sweet kitty who was snuggled with me... There are many times I wanted to but knowing that I'd regret it keeps from succumbing! My hubby, on the other hand, CAN take naps. He wakes up feeling great and ready for another go round. (we used an old bowling ball and made the 'pins' out of re-purposed coffee creamer jugs-filled with sand). Hawaiian cowgirls,,, photo op... me (left) and Juli (right)... katmom	Posted - Nov 06 2016 : 6:23:54 PM Oh Kem,, some of the gals in my group are into photography,,, some (myself included) have brought our feather weight sewing machine and worked on projects, some ride their bikes and visit with the gals. Some time we do a upscaled afternoon pot luck lunch, sometimes dinner and quite often we do either a progressive appetizers or meet up in one location for appetizers. Depending on where we are,, junktiquing is on the list and depending... we either go rafting or hang out at the lake and float around in our inner tubes or rafts... There even is a group of the gals here who are into Ukeleing... Some times we have a theme,,, like Hawaiian Cowgirl,, so we get silly and dress in a mix of Hawaiian and cowgirl outfits,,, we've dome 'Trailer Trash Bowling',, were the gals dress up uber silly,, some of us were lucky to find vintage Bowling shirts to wear... One year one of the gals who is a Belly/Tribal dancer taught us to wiggle and jiggle our hips,, so as you can see,,, it's what ever you want to do, the skies the limit. I want to try to get some gals with vintage vehicles and trailers to do some one hour trips next summer. We have 4 lakes within an hour each way. It would be fun to visit every one of them. Once we get there I just don't want to sit. I want activity. Some like to sit and drink, not my cup of tea.

Had catered dinners and the Ranch cook made us the best 'Brown Bag' lunches to take with us out to the Point... We enjoyed our lunch as we sat and watched the ocean life around us... We also took a tour of the Hearst Castle.... katmom	Posted - Oct 24 2016 : 8:42:29 PM I am back and had a BLAST!!!! 3 1/2 hr drive,,, up to the Coast,,, onto the ranch and then let the fun begin! Because it is part of the Hearst family's private residence I am limited as to what I can post (for their privacy)... but they were absolutely fabulous the way they treated and accommodated us... I also truly appreciate how the Hearst family and legacy is determind to protect the land and coastal line in San Simeon. the coastline along Pacific Coast Hwy, San Simeon. driving up to the Dairy Barn... this was our play room for the event... the Bigs and the Littles... 14trailers and 17 gal~pals... Wm. R. Hearst had a lovely "Senator's " House built on the property for the Senator to come stay for a get-away... and the garden out back... oh sigh,,,, oh how fast 4 days can come to an end... but we had great fun and great memories,,, and like they say,, "what happens at the Ranch/camp site... stays at the Ranch/camp site".... heeheehee....
