Hello all!

A friend of mine froze homemade broth in canning jars. She left plenty of head room, but every jar broke. Any idea why this would happen? The broth was cool before she put it in the freezer.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Jan, only a few canning jars are freezer safe. Ball Canning Jar site lists which are freezer safe. http://www.freshpreserving.com/home I keep two wide mouth pint freezer jars in freezer door one to hold tomato paste frozen in ice trays and the other ginger.
