Please remember to "Subscribe" to this topic so you don't miss any important information.

This swap is for mini-aprons made with Easter, polka dots or "looks" like dots, and small florals. When making aprons for your fellow swappers, please remember to make something that you would like to receive. Future themes throughout the year will be Patriotic, Western, Halloween, Christmas, and "Party" styles. If you want, you can plan ahead, find fabrics in your stash, and make some mini aprons ahead when you have spare time.

Please take a look at the cute aprons from a previous farmgirl mini-apron swap. Read the comments and you will see Grace's collection of mini-aprons here: http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/snitz/topic.asp?whichpage=0.84&TOPIC_ID=77791#915025

NOTE: There are patterns available for mini-apron ornaments - Simplicity 1957 and Simplicity 2748. There are also free crochet patterns on Pinterest. You can use these or design your own half-aprons or full bib-style aprons.

Sign-ups start now: February 14
Sign-ups end: Noon, Wednesday, March 1
Important! Mail out to Linda by: Friday, March 17
NOTE: I would like your aprons, postage and return envelope BEFORE March 24 so I can sort them and mail them back out and you can get them before Easter.

Here are the criteria:
1. You will make a mini apron - either half-apron or full bib-style apron - for each farmgirl who signs up (# depends on signups). Finished apron size is approx. 5" wide and 5-6" long depending on style (Note: my half aprons start at 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" and are gathered to a 5" waist) ... not including the ties... ties on each side should be about 6-8"(not incl.waistband) so the aprons can be tied onto an object for display. The bib aprons are about 6-1/2" to 7" long, not counting the neck strap. You might want to add a pocket and tuck a little note inside. You will be getting one of your mini-aprons back. Be sure to sign your mini-aprons.
2. You will send me your set of mini aprons.
3. You will also include a Self-addressed, stamped envelope with the same amount of postage as your envelope costs to mail, plus $1.00 to cover the cost of mailing your mini aprons back to you. The extra dollar will cover possible different trims that other aprons may have that would add weight.
4. I will divide up the mini aprons, and mail your mini aprons back to you.

I will list names of those who sign up and let you know the final total!

Let's have some fun with these!

Good choice, Marilyn. Any other suggestions? Or should I send them to Krista from all of us?

I think you should send the set to one person. How about Krista Davis. She has not been in the Mimi apron swaps but since she is Mary Jane's niece I think she would enjoy them. She is a young homemaker and mom of two tiny little boys.

I have a complete set of aprons let over from this Spring/Easter swap because one person did not complete the swap. Here are several ideas of what I can do with them:

* I can send them all to one farm girl - If there is one you think might need a pick-me-up or I can take names from you and then draw one.
* I can send a couple aprons to several farm girls - drawn from list of names from you
* or - what ideas might you have?

I'd like them to be enjoyed like we have enjoyed them. Please let me know.

I have also sent emails with no response. Last she emailed, she told me she was making them and would send them the last weekend of March. I have not heard from her after that.

I took my first set to school and hung them where I had an Easter pennant banner. The kids are always impressed that I decorate their little kitchen area.
I also saw where Mary Jane posted the photo of hers and the nice comments.

So happy people are starting to receive their aprons. Everyone should have theirs by the end of the week - hopefully, sooner.

I received my Apron's today :)! Oh my goodness how cute and different they all are. Just like each of us - unique and wonderfully made! Can't wait to get them on a little clothes line in my big kitchen window. My only concern is that the birdies might get hurt thinking it is for them to land on. Will see how it goes!
Speaking of birds, our Humming birds showed up yesterday, right on schedule. April 10th, just like clock work :)!
Have a great night
Hugs, Ruth

Yours was the crocheted one, right? You were one short, but I have one in case Kathi sends her aprons. If not - Grace and I have an idea to present. We will wait a bit to see if Kathi completes the swap.

Mine is the one with the ribbon tie with lace glued on, I'm sorry I'm terrible at remembering to put my name on stuff- my early education teachers can attest to this!

That is wonderful, marvelous, totally outstanding news.
Now get ready for the rain. We had a turd floater while ago. Julie and Baylee were walking and got caught out in it. I went to look for them, but a neighbor got them first and brought them home. Wade says there is more to come.
