I need to know how long does it take a lettuce plant to show new growth. I did what was advised and harvested lettuce by cutting above ground and left the bottom of the plant. It does get watered. No signs of new growth after one week. Any ideas ladies?

What is your temperature there? Lettuce will not grow if it is too hot. It Is considered a cool veggie, and an early season veggie. It is happiest in temps of 60 - 70 degrees farenheit and will not grow above 80 degrees. And there are no dumb questions. Ya can't learn things if ya don't ask!

Happy Gardening!

Sylvia, you should probably try planting more seeds. It's time to prepare for a fall harvest. And the only dumb question is the one not asked

Mine has gone to seed now and I will replant in Sept. We are too hot here in VA to grow all summer.
