Hi Farmgirls,

My hubby is the best. I just got back last week from a surprise visit to see my mama in Georgia. I've been watching plane tickets for awhile. My DH sent my daughter and I to a visit, and I unplugged much of the time to visit my mama and her husband. We had so much fun. I miss her so much. We were always so close when I was growing up, and we talk on the phone every day. She stuffed me so much - i think I gained ten pounds, lol! Nothing is better than your mom's home cooking! The weather was beautiful the whole time we were there, and we did a lot of relaxing. Happiness!

If you live nearby your mom, you are so lucky! I hate being so far from family. So blessed we can talk everyday and visit from time to time, just wish it could be more often!

Farmgirl Hugs,
Nicole

Nicole...I am like you, love and appreciate the Technologies we have at our finger tips...but also love unplugging once in awhile. Last night our TV Cable box went out and I just sat in my recliner and read in my current book. It was deligtful! Total Silence...can be a beautiful thing also. The Cable Tech comes tomorrow and I'm sad! LOL I could probably live very contentedly without a TV except for News, Sports, and Hallmark Channel.LOL My husband on the other hand could not! I never even turn my TV on until late afternoon News. I quite enjoy NOT being plugged into that squack box all day.

Glad you enjoyed your time with your Mama. Some women have such special relationships with their Mothers...I'm not one of them however. I was always much closer to my Dad but he passed away 15 years ago. I love my Mom...but she isn't easy to be around at times.
That was so sweet of your husband to do something about your need to see your mama. He's a good man!

Blessings and Hugs,
Peggy

Amen Grace! I love technology but really feel refreshed when I do unplug a bit.

Nicole... so happy you got to spend time with your mama...

It is good to sometimes 'unplug ' from the world and focus on what is truly important.... Family.

Thanks Girls. She says the house is so quiet without us! I wish we lived closer.

Precious times! Robin was able to visit here for three weeks this summer . . what a treasure. My mom is in heaven and I miss her but I'm so grateful for time with my daughter.

Sooooooo glad you had that opportunity . . . I'm sure it was priceless!

I'm so glad you were able to go visit your mom. That was very nice of your husband. I am close with my mom as well. We talk on the phone everyday and I'm lucky enough that she lives only 20 minutes away. I hope you are able to visit her more often.
