Please remember to "Subscribe" to this topic so you don't miss any important information.

This will be the last mini apron swap! If you have enjoyed seeing or receiving) all the minis we have been making, this is your last chance. We'd love to have more farm girls join us. We are having fun and getting lots of mini aprons to decorate our farmhouses, cottages, apartments, sewing rooms, and rv/trailer/motorhomes.

This swap is for mini-aprons made in a Christmas theme in design or fabrics. When making aprons for your fellow swappers, please remember to make something that you would like to receive. We love embellishments - buttons, trims, pockets, lace, ruffles, etc, but they are not always necessary depending on the design of the apron. Find fabrics in your stash, and join in when you can. NOTE: All your minis do not all have to be the same - different is fun, too! Use up your Chritmas fabric scraps and trim and be creative.

Please take a look at the cute aprons from a previous farmgirl mini-apron swap. Read the comments and you will see Grace's collection of mini-aprons here: http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/snitz/topic.asp?whichpage=0.84&TOPIC_ID=77791#915025

NOTE: There are patterns available for mini-apron ornaments - Simplicity 1957 and Simplicity 2748. There are also free crochet and other mini apron patterns on Pinterest. You can use these or design your own half-aprons or full bib-style aprons. Farmgirls LOVE embellishments! But most of us just sit, sew, and create the aprons as we go.

For all you crocheters, out there, here is a cute adaptable apron some of you may like.

Look down the page. I love the red and white version.

Sign-ups start now: October 1
Sign-ups end: Noon, Thursday, October 26
Mail out to Linda NO LATER THAN: Friday, November 10
NOTE: The sooner I receive all the aprons, the sooner you can all ooh and aah over them at your own house. LOL! These will be at your homes so you can use them for Christmas decorations.

Here are the criteria:
1. You will make a mini apron - either half-apron or full bib-style apron - for each farmgirl who signs up (# depends on signups). Finished apron size is approx. 5" wide and 5-6" long depending on style (Note: my half aprons start at 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" and are gathered to a 5" waist) ... not including the ties... ties on each side should be about 6-8"(not incl.waistband) so the aprons can be tied in a row for a banner or tied onto an object for display. The bib aprons are about 6-1/2" to 7" long, not counting the neck strap. You might want to add a pocket and tuck a little note inside. You will be getting one of your mini-aprons back. PLEASE Be sure to sign your mini-aprons.
2. You will send me your set of mini aprons, including the one for you.
3. You will also include a Self-addressed, stamped (with postage stamps, not with a machined tape) large envelope with the same amount of postage as your envelope costs to mail. Include $1.00 cash to cover the cost of extra weight that different trims/aprons might add. NOTE: Depending on how embellished your aprons are compared to the others, postage could be quite a bit more. I will contact you if the amount is more than yours plus the dollar.
4. I will divide up the mini aprons, and mail your mini aprons back to you in your envelope.

I will list names of those who sign up and let you know the final total as soon as signups end!

Let's have some fun with these! You can find many designs on Pinterest or the Internet with the Topic of Christmas Aprons.

Linda, I like your tree. It looks like a Texas carpenter's tree.
Years ago I made a barbed wire tree for my back bedroom. The old barbs were so sharp, even with long sleeves and leather gloves. So my little tree is only about 18" tall.

Here is a picture of our non-traditional Christmas tree. We love how it turned out - with icicle lights and glass ornaments. Ed added the tree topper.

I have mine in the kitchen but will have to take them out on Monday (counter guy will be working) when the Reno begins! But for now, other than a sign on my front door,,, the minis are my only Christmas deco until the flooring is done,,

I thought I looked, Marilyn. I may not have caught any of those - all I looked at had names.

I'm having a very non-traditional Christmas tree this year. I'll post a picture when I get the lights on it.
