I volunteered yesterday morning at the Morton Arboretum's annual 5k Fall Race. They always do up the visitor center court yard and lake nearby for October with a spectacular pumpkin, mum, and decorative kales displays. Scarecrows decorated by the boys and girls scouts go all around Meadow Lake next to the visitor center. It screams fall, even when we are going back up to the 80's this week! This is just one of the displays.

They have such cute little displays. I wish I could create a display like that in my front yard. So lovely you get to spend time there.

so very pretty. it would be nice if you could grow more, and then spend less dollars for your fall display dawn!

The Morton Arboretum's October Fest is on all month now. My husband went with us yesterday to the arboretum & he was very impressed with the displays. The design team there does a superb job putting autumn arrangements in every available spot around the visitor center, children's garden and administration/library building.These little arrangements are around all 4 corners of the outside food tents. I sure wish I had their budget to spend that much on fall flowers & pumpkins! The trees are really starting to show off now, especially since we finally got some measurable rains after a 10+ week dry spell.

Dawn, this display of pumpkins and flowers is just gorgeous! There is nothing so fall as lots of big orange orbs gathered together for everyone to enjoy. Thanks for sharing!

Wow Julie! I also live in Naperville. I hope you can visit your son from Thanksgiving thru December when the arboretum has their spectacular "Illumination" holiday light display going.

How beautiful Dawn. I was there this spring when all the tulips were blooming. Truely spectacular. My son lives in Naperville, so we always try to do fun things when I visit.
A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.

Thanks, glad all of you liked it. There's quite a few other displays throughout the visitor center and children's garden areas. I agree, fall is wonderful!
