Posted - Oct 04 2017 : 11:45:44 AM Hi everyone! I'm so happy to be joining you here. My wife and I are in the process of turning our little 2 acre plot of land (lovingly dubbed "Pagan Acres") into our dream homestead. So far this only consists of a garden and a flock of spoiled chickens, but we have big plans for the future.
I've been dreaming of joining the Farmgirl Sisterhood for ages, and this year is finally the year. It was an issue of MaryJanesFarm that sparked my desire to live the farmgirl life, so things have come full circle.
I look forward to getting to know you gals! |

Posted - Apr 03 2018 : 11:10:08 AM Thanks Winnie! Snow yesterday morning and a little more this morning. All rain now! Trying to finish up indoor projects so when spring arrives I'll be ready to head outside to stay busy. Hope to do some morning sewing & writing outside this spring and summer. Yes, the church Sewing Ministry has been productive, it feels SO good knowing the dresses are keeping girls clean, pretty and hopefully safe. The inspiring MJ article stated that the girls feel the patch on the dress pocket may save them from predators.
Happy spring Farmgirls!

Your church project at church, Dress a Girl around the World" sounds like a wonderful gift you and your other church friends are currently doing. 300 dresses is fantastic. I also loved hearing that it was inspired by shared by our MaryJane. She is always finding interesting topics and ideas for new and meaningful projects!!
Glad you are here and I hope you will share more of your interests and projects with everyone here!

Posted - Jan 25 2018 : 1:50:55 PM Greetings Ambrosia: I am also a new Farmgirl! I received such a wonderful welcome note recently from Winnie, Farmgirl 3109, thank you! I have had a magazine subscription for years and have many of MaryJane's books and decided that it was now time to become a Farmgirl! I recently retired after being at my job for 36.5 years. I am trying to create a new balance between home, elder care and sewing ministry at church plus my love of sewing, quilting and my sewing machine collection (mostly vintage machines). I hope to expand my interests in cooking, gardening and gathering building supplies for a unique shed to house my sewing machines. Happy to learn that Marie Bostwick is also now a Farmgirl, she is my favorite author; I hit the road to meet her at a book signing in CT several years ago. I am currently working on the submission of my first merit badge. Gae, Farmgirl 7534 |

We're planning on getting goats next year, and following up with bees and then a dairy cow. My wife is trying to convince me that we should get a pig as well, but I'm not yet sold on the idea. Besides that, we're working to expand our garden, put in an orchard, and make improvements on the house. Basically anything that lets us do for ourselves. |
