Hay there.
I have been getting lots of the seed catalogs in the mail lately. I am only going to plant a small variety of items but a lot of each item. I will be planting flowers this year along side the vegie patch. I am really ready for spring already but I also know that we have lots of winter months yet to go. DREAMING of WARMER weather!!!

My favorite seed catalogs are Jung Seeds and Johnny's. Both are great---Jungs is especially good for northern gardeners. Our garden is 80ft by 80 ft---so we grow a lot of things. Potatoes,lettuce,onions,beets,mustard greens,tomatoes,peppers,pumpkins,summer and winter squash,pole beans,lima beans,chard,cucumbers,corn and a lot of gourds to give to our friends for decorations. I also grow broom corn,mexican sunflowers and real sunflowers. This year I hope to include zinnias. It is a lot of work but we are really rewared by the bounty of our harvest.

i love the baker creek catalog. i also use seed savers and johnny seeds. this year we are keeping it simple (at least that's the plan) its hard gardening when the neighbors are 10' away and loud. I'm determined this year to not let the neighbors ruin my outdoor activities. This year i want to concentrate on my herbs, tomatoes, squashes and melons. The quality of produce in the store is awful, there's no taste.

I did get my Baker Creek seed catalogue. I haven't really gone thru it yet. Was waiting till after the holidays to be able to sit down and make my list. I don't think I am doing as much this year either. With all our baking and farm markets every weekend it's hard to find the time to take care of it. I'll be planting some though. I can't wait for spring to get started.

Our new home has practically no flowers, no garden, and so much room for trees! I want to plant lilacs, apple trees, and fill in our fenced front yard with bushes, flowers, and maybe a dwarf tree.
