Lookie Lookie,, (yesterday) I found my old friend Mary Jane..

Ok, not Farm Girl Mary Jane,,, but rather my doll I bought back in the early 1980's.
I use to collect Madame Alexander dolls but this one just caught my eye so I bought it.
I was unpacking yet another box when I found my dolls,,, it was fun to spend time with them.

I too have several of my dolls including Barbie (currently stored) from my childhood. One day I hope to have a granddaughter who will appreciate them. I have four sons! I also have handmade clothing form my dolls and Barbie dolls which were made by my Grandmother. Such intricate work on such small tiny clothes! She was a true seamstress!

Grace...she is Adorable! I just bought my first ever BARBIE Doll (thanks to Connie Warren sending me an alert)...Barbie is a Farmgirl!! And she even has a
little chicken under her arm. And she has on her work boots, faded jeans and a plaid summer top on. She is just too cute! If anyone else wants a Barbie Farmgirl
you can find her at Walmart or on-line. I will enjoy her and also let my grand-daughter play with her when she is over.

But WHO would have thought I would be 67 yrs old before I got my first Barbie?????? Just goes to show...you never get to old for Dolls!!!

Love and Hugs,
Peggy

Here's me and my "Mary Ann". She was sooooo beautiful! That is the how the backside of our farmhouse looked then (early 50s). Doesn't look like that now and it's no longer ours!
Anyway, wish I still had "Mary Ann"

As a little girl.. we movered every 2 years... so I wasn't
able to own much in the way of personal possessions.
So what few dolls I had were few. I remember envying
some of my friends who were able to have 'stuff '...
perhaps that is why I am such s "collector of stuff"...
Lololol!

I had a doll with long blonde, ringlet hair ... her name was Mary Ann. I'll have to post a pic of her. I didn't know she went into the attic at the farmhouse until AFTER my younger sister sold her at a yard sale. She and her hubby were living in the farmhouse, cleaning out stuff and sold a bunch of things at a yard sale. I was so sad!!

Love this post! Love the doll! I have a few dolls, too. One is “Pussycat”, a blond babydoll from Madame Alexander. I bought her from a tag sale, she is exactly like the one I had when I was a child. I have a few from my childhood, too.
Joey, you crack me up! I can’t believe how many things we have in common; after all these years, I am still discovering things about you we both are similar about!

Your doll is so pretty and smart looking. All of my dolls have been in storage for 11 years. I have a Cabbage Patch doll and an American girl doll and a Bitty Baby doll and many more from my childhood. I have already told my daughter that when I am old and muddle headed she must bring me a doll and one change of clothes. I have no doubt that I will take my Dollie everywhere.

Yes... every time I unpack a box it's like my birthday...
Wish I could stay focused on unpacking. But we are also being diligent
about purging unnecessary stuff/clutter... so a lot of stuff gets
re-boxed and set aside for a Spring / barn yard sale.

Aww Grace she is a purty doll!!! My mother collected them as well. Unfortunately my sisters and I were total to boys and never appreciated her collection and they were sold before she passed. So sad! I wish I had a couple now to pass onto my granddaughter! How fun to unpack and find treasures forgotten!!

She is sweet Grace. These are some of the small joys of unpacking! How is that coming along Grace? Getting everything situated?
