Hello ladies, I thought we would just do a catch up or whatever you want month for March! I know I have not accomplished nearly what I would have liked the last couple months. This month I plan to make lots of granny squares and snowflakes and if I get around to it work on some of the Star Wars figures from the awesome books Debbie sent me!

Let me know what you plan to crochet this month and share pics when you are done!!

Here are the projects from January and February if you would like some inspiration:

January Inspiration and Ideas:

1 Skein: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cable-ear-warmer-2
Granny Square: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/traditional-granny-square-3
Thread Crochet: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mount-silex-snowflake
Fun challenge: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/box-of-chocolates-3
Temperature Scarf My daughter is going to make a temperature scarf throughout the year. She will be using an H hook and single crochets but no pattern.

February Inspiration and Ideas:

1 Skein: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fiona-button-scarf (this is 1 skein for the shorter size so that's what I plan to make but feel free to make the longer version)
Granny Square: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cosmopolitan-6-inch-granny-square
Thread Crochet: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/grannyflake
Fun challenge: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/seamus-shamrock-amigurumi
Temperature Scarf My daughter is going to make a temperature scarf throughout the year. She will be using an H hook and single crochets but no pattern.

Feel free to follow me on Ravelry here: https://www.ravelry.com/people/sobyn
And I created a folder to store all of my MJF challenge projects here: https://www.ravelry.com/projects/sobyn?set=mjf-2018-crochet-challenge&view=thumbnail

As always anything you crochet is welcome here we want to see your awesome projects!!!

Beautiful tablecloth, Debbie. I have a crocheted tablecloth that my grandmother made for my mother for her wedding. I will find it and take a picture. The small crocheted squares are nothing I would try to do myself.

Here is something I bought for myself at an antique mall in Madill, OK. I'm not sure how old it is, but the work done on it is beautiful. And it fits me!

And to make the waist smaller than the hip measurements the size of the granny squares gets slightly larger on each row until the hip measurement and then remains the same for a "pencil" type skirt. I can't wait to wear it in the winter.

Kristen, I just found you on ravelry!
Gae, here is a picture of my tablecloth as of today. I'm just starting my 12th row. When it's finished, it will be 12x24 rows...so almost halfway done. I want a tablecloth that will fit my dining room table with all of the extensions in it. the blocks are about 5" square.

I've been doing the Ravelry Challenge for 2018, and I've completed 13 projects so far! At the moment, I'm working on the Bertie Garland (cars) for one grandson, and a "Dream Big" garland for another. My next project will be a hooped mandala for my Mom, and then FINALLY a project for me! Feel free to follow me on Ravelry. My username is Kristenstromski. I'll check out anyone else posting a Ravelry name. By the way, I have NEVER used a chat room before, so just getting the hang of it.

Yearning to be better!

Ed and I took a 3-day motorhome trip this past weekend and I had some time to crochet a couple squares. Here are my January and February squares. I am going to alternate white or black around each square before I sew them together. The January block has the white around it. These still have to be blocked.

I am using a yarn from JoAnns that changes color and these blocks are done without changing yarns. The second block changed color a little before I would have liked, but I will still use it in my afghan. or shawl, whichever I decide after more squares are complete.
