For the MJF farmgirl Jubilee I made 2 Banners, one as a gift and the 2nd for myself... well,,, yesterday I had some spare time,, and made another banner using up scraps...

and go figure,,, I forgot to stitch on a couple of yoyos!!!

so now I will head into my sewing room and rummage through my jars of yoyos and find a couple to stitch on...

So beautiful! Love your work! What a great idea and I am sure they hold up so much better than the store bought printed ones! Love the personalization. You are so talented, Grace.

The best part,, they can be made from re-purposed old dresses & shirts evan.. trimed in buttons, lace and yoyos..
they can be stenciled or appliqued... what ever makes you happy.

I will be bringing mine in tonight,, as we are due in some rain over night.

Love the banners you make. Lovely! If I wasn't always keeping up with my animal needs and chores I Might try one. I could work faster---so want to---but old age setting in sure slows me down.

Hey Winnie,, I hear ya... This one I have left out and hubby,,, (go figure) turned on the sprinklers... Now it's pretty wrinkled, but so far has held up.
I stenciled the letters, so I ironed them, covered with a thin piece of cotton, hot iron) to set the paint. So far so good.
I probably will iron it the next time I pull our my iron,,, to freshen it up.
Aa for my other fabric banners, I only leave them outside during the day.(& bring indoors before hubby turns on the sprinklers! lol!)

Grace, your scrap banners are so fun!! I love how you combine colors and accents with what you have on hand. Do you leave these outside all the time? I am wondering how the rain effects them long term. Here in summertime, we can get rain, sometimes very heavy, every afternoon when the thunderstorms crank up. I would live to make a few new banners like you have done, but I am wondering if a cloth banner could even survive this sort of tropical weather thing. Your thoughts?

Grace,
I love that you personalized it! Yo-yos. Yes, because what's not to love about anything made with yo-yos!
