My dear sweet elderly neighbor called and asked me over for tea,,, and to show me some of her recent craft projects (she is a retired grade school Home Ec teacher)
And it goes with out saying, I just adore her....
here are a few things she made using wall paper and ribbons...

after making the cute 4th of July ribbon banner she spotted in a past issue of her MJF magazine,, she decided to make an Autumn/Halloweenie one... hmmm,,, me thinks me needs to make one too!

she found some old sheets of wall paper so she made a few 'tried & true' projects....

and last but not least, she tried, for the first time,, Quilling..

before I left, she presented me with some yummy fruit cake bars... YUMMMMM!

And, I was raised to always bring a gift, even a itty bitty small one, to your hostess,,,, so when I walked in and gave her a hug, I gave her 2 crochet dish rags with some fresh lavender tucked in.

I don't live across the road from her any more, but now I am only 7/8 mile from her house,, she is the sweetest lady, I wish she had been my Home Ec Teacher when I was in school, way back when Dinosaurs walked the Earth!

Grace, what a wonderful friend to have in your life!! Some of her projects remind me of things my Mom lives to create. How fun it was to be invited for tea and craft sharing ! She couldn’t have picked a better friend to invite overr!! I know she wa touched by your hostess gift as well!! I love hearing about two Farmgirls friends from different eras just getting together to share !! Thanks for sharing this sweet event!

Those are some lovely projects she made and you are so lucky to have her share them with you. Plus, you are so sweet to take her some washcloths! It's so wonderful how fall brings people so close together.

Lovely projects and a Beautiful gift from you. Too bad they don't teach home-ec in school anymore. I'm afraid my home ec teacher didn't like me much because I couldn't sew or work in the kitchen and cook worth a hoot. I did learn sewing basics and after I got married I learned to sew and cook quite well. Maybe it was actually my bad attitude she didn't like---LOL. I truly did hate high school.
