I love paper dolls. I have a big hat box full. Wish I had the ones from when I was little. I like hat boxes too. The kids always ask me what I want for gifts and I tell them can always use another hat box.
Windy and cold today. leaves flying all over. Going to try and post a picture.so maybe.

Nancy ,
That is so sweet. This what I was thinking of making. Of making a triangle pendant add the dresses. I want to keep looking for vintage doll supplies.

I decided I'm going to make a paper doll dress garland/banner. Anyone want to swap a paper dress for a garland ?

Awwww I Love those Nancy!I love paper dolls! I too, wish I still had mine! I had Elizabeth Taylor ones from the corner Rexall drugstore, I use to always wander over to the book rack and look at the paperdolls and coloring books while my Granny was shopping.
Nora! I so remember Betsy McCall paper dolls! in every issue of McCalls magazine! We would glue them to another piece of paper or thin cardboard to make them stronger.
I love boxes!
Linda-Quiltee sent me a Red Gingham Box with Hinges!! full of goodies in a swap and I loved it all, but made her laugh at how much I adored that box! Back in the 1960's nightgowns came in pretty boxes at Sears where we shopped. They would pack some dresses that you bought in very nice boxes. I think that's where my love for them came in too. My Granny saved them all, too good to throw away! I had Barbie's in one of them at one time.

I had a big box of paper dolls under my bed as a kid. I played with them all the time. I liked the magazine dolls but my favorite was Barbie and Ken get married. I cut out all the dolls and clothes but I also cut out all the little extras, like the cake and flowers and things and I would set everything up and play for hours. I was about 12 I think. Can you imagine a 12 year old playing paper dolls now? Even my 11yo grand girl says she is too old.

I use to take cardboard boxes and make doll houses using the Sears catalog to cut out the furniture. Loved doing that.

I sure remember Betsy and I loved her and always cut them out and played with them. We were too poor to afford the magazines so my aunt would save them for me. How I looked forward to getting those magazines. It is almost fun to be poor because you appreciate getting things so much more---and you truly enjoy what you do have.

Wow, what a splendid collection of paper dolls!! I loved them too when I was a young child. It seems like they are not as popular with children like they once were. I remember spending many an hour dressing them and pretending some story or another. As a huge pony and horse lover, I also made a set of paper horse dolls that lived in a shoe box. They had blankets and little saddles plus barn accessories like hay bales and buckets. I think I used one of my people paper dolls for the owner of all the animals.

I loved paper dolls when I was little. I had a set of ballerinas and I can still remember their names.

My sister used to draw paper dolls for us to play with. Even at a young age, she was an amazing artist.

Nancy Jo,
I did find some online quite a few years ago, saved them to my computer but never printed them off. I really should because my granddaughter would probably love them.

I love paper dolls and boxes. All kinds of boxes. I have quite a few. I have all my farmgirl cards in a little cardboard type suit case that my dad had. I've thought about decorating it with decoupage. Then I have all sorts of sewing things in decorative boxes. I gave some to my granddaughter as I was getting over run with them. Only because I don't have the storage space. Now I use them to deocrate my rooms while they are holding whatever. I have cards and things in my little office area and a stack of matching boxes holding different things for the office.
You certainly have quite a collection of paper dolls there NancyJo! I don't have many as I don't find too many around any more.

Hi Peggy Ann,
Good another box lover. Then I'm not crazy.
I don't think I will be doing a blog anymore. Just spend more time here and post pictures sometimes. Hope all is well in your world.
