Posted - Feb 25 2019 : 07:10:18 AM Grace, I think you are spot on about having comfort in "our stage of life"!! LOL!!!! I adore your little glampers and I bet they are fun to camp in. I've never had the experience in such a camper but it looks like so much fun and I love how Farmgirls fix them up to be little luxury motels on wheels!! I know you are looking forward to starting the camping season for 2019, and we onlookers can't wait for pictures!!

Posted - Feb 24 2019 : 1:57:39 PM Grace, at least you had the experience when you were young enough to handle the toughness of such a camping trip! I did some primitive camping as absenior Girl Scout, but that was in the summer months! I cannot imagine snow camping or really cold conditions for several days. Especially NOW!! LOL!!

Posted - Feb 23 2019 : 4:55:17 PM Yep, Grit & Moxie.... as for me, I camped up in the Bitterroots mountain (Idaho side),, traversed the trails and streams on horse back, slept in a TeePee the 1st nite and a cold bunkhouse the rest of the time,, ate meals prepared in cast iron Dutch ovens covered in coal ash, bathed in a cold stream, used a 1 seater outhouse over by the horses, drank a fair amount of wine with my fellowette camp gal pals... Lost my best and favorite Swiss Knife in amongst the Huckleberries... and I can truly say, it was an experience,, and I seriously doubt I'll sign up to do it again... for a long time! lol! But am glad I did...
Which is why I LOVE my little 'playhouse on wheels'.. lolol! But I am at a point in my life that I prefer to have a wee bit of comfort, as they say,,, "Been there, Done that,, bought a T-shirt,, no need to go back! lolol!

Posted - Feb 21 2019 : 4:23:36 PM Bonnie, this Florida gal would most likely freeze!! LOL!! I am guessing my years of no such weather would make it a crazy thing to even consider. Your question makes me wonder how those early explorers ever made it to the North Pole given that they did not have access to all of the super warm and repellent fabrics we have today for such weather. I know some didn't but in the end, it was accomplished. Now that is some kinda grit!!

Posted - Feb 02 2019 : 08:26:11 AM Wasn't this cold spell horrid? Almost unreal. Anyone who is camping at twenty below must be homeless, desperate to camp, or just plain crazy. I have camped out in the snow before lots of times because my husband made me. It was kinda fun except when you woke up and had to come out of the tent and be in the snow. That was when I was young and stupid for sure.
