We have an even number of participants this month so you will mail to and receive from the same Farmgirl this month. Don't forget to post pics on this thread when you receive your ATC cards! Spring is right around the corner and March 12th is "National Plant a Flower Day" so for the month of March 2019 lets have an ATC swap with the theme "SPRING FLOWERS". Make one ATC card for your partner using any colors or mediums that you wish. Be creative, try something new, and most of all have fun! Of course if this theme doesn't suit you feel free to create something that you like instead. CLOSED - Partners have been posted! Signups are open thru March 6th. Partners will be posted on March 7th. Mail out deadline will be March 23rd. If you have any fun ideas or suggestions for swaps or themes please share so we can keep this swap fresh and exciting for all to enjoy. For those who are new to ATC Cards here is what it's all about: Artist trading cards (ATCs) are miniature pieces of art that are traded around the world. Artists create, trade and collect art at organized "swap" events, either in person or online. The only official rule for ATCs is the size: 2.5" x 3.5". Artist Trading Cards are the same format as modern trading cards (hockey cards or baseball cards). They are self-made unique works or small series, signed and dated on the reverse by the artist/producer, exchanged and collected by the people who participate in the collaborative performance. Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) are a conceptual art project initiated by the Swiss artist M. Vanci Stirnemann. He called it a Collaborative Cultural Performance. In 1997 he created 1200 cards by hand as part of an exhibit. On the last day, he invited others to create their own cards and trade with him during the closing reception. The movement took off, and today, there are ATC swaps in almost every major city around the world as well as right here on Mary Janes Farm! You can make ATCs with many different media including paper, fabric, felt, metal, wood, clay, paint, stamps, embellishments and more. edlund33	Posted - Mar 21 2019 : 09:26:46 AM Here are the gorgeous ATC cards and some other goodies Linda sent me. She made two cards, one of which folds up and is really unique! I received this well over a week ago and have been enjoying them all this time while I was up to my ears with running an auction for my Rotary club. That's finally over with so I have my life back now I just love the ATCs all of you other ladies have received. Thanks for joining the swap and having fun with all of us! I tried something different this time and made an "easel ATC". It stands up and stays in place with a flower embellishment on the flat part in front. hummingbirdjoy	Posted - Mar 12 2019 : 12:16:42 PM I received the most beautiful ATC from Marilyn yesterday. It has a Norwegian tole painted flower on it. So delicate looking and sweet trim around the edges and the words "For joy plant flowers"...I sure agree with that Marilyn, I love gardening. It's just beautiful and I asked her to post a picture of it for me since I'm not able to. Thanks so much Marilyn and I'm glad I was your partner for this month. She also made a darling matching notecard in blue tole painting. Went into the po box yesterday and by late afternoon and evening we were having a very strong wind and rain storm and lost power for several hours so no computer either. I've watched some really fun ones and it's such an easy way to learn new techniques and it's free, doesn't get better than that. The hardest part of making this month's "spring flowers" theme was narrowing it down, as there were so many possibilities. Can't wait to see everyone's inspiring creations! I recently bought a Bluprint subscription (formerly Craftsy) in an effort to learn shuttle tatting.......but I have since gotten DISTRACTED by all kinds of other inspiring art videos. One idea popped up for some creative ways of upcycling old journal pages. It inspired me to get creative with the pages of "good" doodles from my painting practice notebooks. I also learned some new techniques for gluing down trim so this month's ATC has been a super fun creation!
