Posted - Oct 12 2019 : 5:25:42 PM Yesterday my favorite Christmas store opened. The Holly Jolly Christmas Shop in West Unity Ohio. This year they have also added Santa's Photo Shop as well as one other store. I am so excited. The store changes themes every year and they decorate it so beautifully. It always lifts my spirits to go into the store and look around. It's only open three months out of the year and it draws a lot of business to town.

Posted - Oct 15 2019 : 8:05:19 PM Grace, there is nothing like browsing through the Christmas stores. I can spend hours in them. Winnie, they have a lot of unique items in there. They bring in different items every year. The decorations are so exquisite. I can only imagine all the work that must go into the decorating. Peggy, I'm sure you would love the Christmas stores here. This year they have two new ones added. So fun. I didn't know you had a Christian Book Store. How wonderful that you spread the Christmas cheer with your customers. I love mulled cider. Yummy. Heather, how wonderful that you are only 2 hours away from here. We will have to get together sometime soon. That would be awesome. Connie, I would love to see the carolers dressed up in costumes from the 1800's. And roasted chestnuts. MMMMMMMMMM what a treat. Dickens on the Square sounds fun.

Posted - Oct 15 2019 : 11:22:10 AM Lori...another thing you and I have in common...Old Fashioned Christmas Stores. When I go to The Oregon Coast each year we have to go to The Christmas Store in Lincoln City. This Store is open year-round and It is like stepping back into a Victorian Christmas of years past. Don't get me wrong they have a lot of Modern Themed Ornaments too like all the Disney Characters, Dog and Cat Ornaments, Christian Ornaments etc. Plus they carry Calendars, Christmas Cards, Stationary. We never get out of there in less than two hours. When we were at the Coast for my Beach Retreat earlier this month My DIL, Her Mom (my Best Friend, and I bought all the Special Family Ornaments for this Christmas. We try to hide them from each other and that is hard...but half the fun! I spent 130.00 easily just on Ornaments. But I'm thinking by the time the Grandkids are grown and married they will never have to buy any ornaments...because we will have them already covered. LOL ~ When I worked at Vancouver Mall we had a Christmas Store come in each year and I loved going in there too...because they were only there for 2-3 months and then gone. They served Hot Mulled Cider to all their guests (customers) etc. After they were no longer coming into the Mall I started the Tradition in my Christian Book Store. Through November and December, we did Hot Cider, Hot Cocoa, and Christmas Cookies every Weekend. It made the Store smell so good and so inviting. And I decorated the Store for Christmas every year too. Such Good Memories! Thanks Lori for walking me down Memory Lane today!

Posted - Oct 14 2019 : 5:54:31 PM I went to two of the Christmas stores today and oh how beautiful they looked. This is the first year for Kringle's Korner. Homemade gourmet candies and New York cheesecakes. They had Christmas cups, bowls, plates and napkins as well as many other things. It was a wonderful place to be in. I would love to work in one of those stores. The other store that I did not go in yet is a specialty ornament shop. I will go in there sometime this week. I should take pictures the next time I'm in there so I can share them with everyone.
