This was the best picture I could get. Took about a hundred. Anyway got them together this morning and oiled them all with olive oil. Also my Grandma's rolling pin and some wood spoons etc. So my hands are nice and soft now. Just put them all back in their spots.

Nancy Jo your wooden bowls are beautiful!! And useful!
That is something I look for every time I go yard selling and to auctions, have yet to find one that is in good condition to use.

Thank you for sharing your picture .

Nancy, your wooden set is beautiful. And they shine so lovely with their new oil. I don’t have any wooden bowls. Now I wish I did. They are so pretty.

If you haven't oiled your wooden wares ever or in awhile, lightly oil them and repeat to get the desired look. The dryer the wood, the more oil it will
drink! LoL! A few of mine are really thirsty!

Nancy jo,,, yep,, DH uses (suck it out to his work shop) my Olive oil on some of his turnings.. I wondered why I was running through it so fast, until one day he forgot to put the oil back in the pantry and I found it on his work table!!

linda,
I think you can look up preserving wood bowls. I just use olive oil, rub it in real good and let it dry. If you thinks there is to much on there rub it some more with a dry cloth.

Grace -

I will have to talk to you. When we bought the new house, Ed bought the wood lathe from the previous owner at the garage sale. So - when we get moved in, he will have a new hobby, too! LOL!

Love those bowls. I didn't know you had to oil them. How often, how much, and how long does it take for them to dry? Does the oil make foods served in them change taste at all?

How nice they look! I never have oiled mine. I didn't know I should. Will have to get mine out and make them shine!

Old wooden kitchen wares are some of my favorite vintage things to see . Yours looks beautiful all oiled up and I love that you have your grandmother's rolling pin to still use. I have my Mom's pin and I still use it all the time. I never think to oil up my few wooden things but I should do like you have done because they really do look wonderful!

Nancy, very pretty especially your grandma's rolling pin.

Put your hair up in a bun, drink some coffee and handle it.
