This thing about frozen dirt sounds so foreign to this Florida girl!! Say what???? LOL!!!! Isn’t it weird how diverse the seasonally conditions can be in our country? And we haven’t even talked about Alaska, way up there closer to the Arctic. I find it all so fascinating and interesting! Just to add a comparison, this far South in the Latitude, all the new baby green leaves are now bursting out and Redbud trees and Dogwoods are blooming. However, another cold front from up North is arriving today and bringing our upcoming night temps into the 30s. Just another southern Spring where the swings between hot and cold are huge!

I hear ya Grace! I went out to check under the compost in my garden yesterday to check consistency, and came up with a frozen chunk of dirt.
The early bird gets the ice chunk I guess.

Oh my Grace, how I love little Crocus in early Spring!!! When I was growing up, my Mom had them planted all over the yard in all colors. What was truly amazing was that if if snowed, the little darlings just kept on undeterred! Thanks for sharing and enjoy. Spring is on it's way now and there is no stopping it!!

I think I'll have to get a gnome or two. Maybe that'll help the flowers. I did notice my chives the other day, but no crocus yet.

Lucky you! Enjoy your beautiful purple crocus. The last of our ice and snow may finally melt off today. Who knows what is lurking beneath it?

What a sweet surprise, I am going out to see if I have any. Those pretty babies even pop up here in New York really early. I love the purple ones. Doesn't your little gnome look happy with them?
