Hi
I'm a Newbie and a big fan of "MaryJanesFarm" Magazine. We live in the rural part of Missouri. I don't do gardening but I do support the local Farmers Market. I'm retired from working the Front/Payment desk in a doctors office for 26 years. I like to do paper crafts, just recently began crocheting granny square and bake. I collect and compete buttons. Last year I got my first blue ribbon on a tray of "Verbal" buttons. There's more to buttons than just cutting them off of a shirt .
Looking forward to making lots of "Country" Friends
Debbie

Hello and Welcome, fellow MO Farm Girl!! So glad you found Mary Jane's site. It sounds like you have been a Farm Girl for a long time already just didn't know there was and place to connect. All your activities and interests sound lovely and I'm anxious to hear more about them.

We are still several hours away, but at least on the same half of the state! LOL If you have ever heard of Cape Girardeau, MO; I don't live too far from there, just a little north of it. Is Mountain Home alone Hwy 60 before you get to Springfield? Wouldn't it be fun to meet sometime?

Have fun on here, you will just love being part of this phenomenal group of ladies. God bless.

Hi and welcome from southern WV---Post many posts and tell us what you do. Welcome to you ----although I may be a no talented person in the MJF girls and all they do. This is a great bunch for sure. I am just a sturdy farm woman hanging in there---have fun and rock on. I always say southern WV because we are so different from the northen part.

Hi, Debbie. I agree with Sandy - I would like to know more about competing with your buttons. I love buttons as well and have a nice collection. Welcome! I am a new Farmgirl and know you will enjoy getting to know everyone. I am having fun getting to "chat" with everyone. I have never done this before joining the Sisterhood. I live near the top of NC in the mountains on a river. Looking forward to getting to know you!

Big welcomes from West Virginia! I love old buttons too. Have some from my Grandma in old blue jars---they saved everything---I loved to look at them as a child. But alas---just poor people buttons. Hope you post many thoughts.

Hi Debbie,

I'm a wanted to be a farmgirl someday in my retirement. I'm getting near retirement.(I'm 58) I love to work with paper too. Vintage magazine form the 1940 - 1960. Decoupage is my art, my thing. I also like to collect old / vintage button. It's fun to sew them on other blouses or craft projects. It is very rare to find them on card, like saleman samples. I have only seen them twice at an estate sale. Love to get to know more of you later.

All for now,

Welcome, Debbie to our MJF Forum!! It is great to meet you and hear about your interests and button collection and competitions. Congratulations on your Blue ribbon too!! Buttons are fascinating and I never thought of them as being collector's items , but I am sure there are very unique and rare buttons out there if you know how to search and find them.
